It's tough not to love the little town of Shepherdstown, WV. We ran into a number of VERY talkative, friendly folks. The streets are charming, and strolling around is very nice. But the most relaxing spot in the village might be the garden behind the Thomas Shepherd Inn. Grab a bottle of wine and go sit in the back in...

We had a one-night getaway to the Thomas Shepherd Inn. We arrived early evening and had time to relax on the home's second floor veranda before strolling into town for dinner. The home is spotlessly clean and roomy. We were in the back of the house and heard no noise - from within or without the house. Great black-out window...

Just what a good B&B should be. Charming house, carefully restored. Within easy walking distance to the University and on the main street, (which is only 3 or 4 blocks long). Gracious hosts. And the best, freshest, healthiest breakfast I have ever had at a B&B. Most of the food is local and/or organic, and very well prepared.

My family and I enjoyed our overnight stay in the Thomas Shepherd Inn this week. It is a beautiful old building with comfortable spacious rooms and within walking distance of numerous restaurants. The beds were comfortable, everything was neat as a pin and breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed our chats with Lauren, the innkeeper, who was very friendly and helpful....

We spent a lovely time at the Thomas Shepherd Inn hosted by David and Lauren in Feb. From the moment we walked in the door we were impressed by Lauren's warm welcome and hospitality. The history of the home is a story in and of itself which we were delighted to hear. It was impeccably clean and tidy. The furniture...

The inn is beautifully decorated, clean, and there were snacks. Breakfast was delicious! The owners are very friendly and hospitable. Although we didn't use the library books and games, we were glad they were there just in case. We really enjoyed our one-night stay in Shepherdstown!

My husband and I were heading up to NJ to pick up our new camper and decided to take a side trip to go see Shepherdstown. Looking for a special place to stay on that one night and instantly decided that The Thomas Shepherd Inn was going to be the place! From the time we arrived, we felt welcomed. We...

My daughter and I were on our way to Washington D.C and planned our stay in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. The Thomas Shepherd Inn was convenient to all the restaurants and shops downtown. The accommodations were just what we needed and the Lauren and David were wonderful innkeepers. The breakfast was very good and included a thick hot apple soup that...

Was looking for a little getaway recently and came across this B&B. Lovely old home, nice furnishings, comfortable bed, and a wonderful innkeeper named Lauren. The fresh made cookies were great at arrival and the breakfasts were superb! Shepherdstown is a very quaint small college town with a few unique shops. Very walkable. Very convenient to Antietam battlefield.

The other reviews really do this place justice, so take a look. I had a wonderful weekend getaway, and am grateful for Lauren and Dave's hospitality. They were so helpful and great to talk to, but not intrusive. Accommodations were very comfortable, with lots of little extra conveniences (e.g., bathrobe, power strip, USB ports, night light) that I usually bring...
