We stayed at this hotel October 19th & 20th while in town visiting family. I was very surprised with the cleanliness of the room/hotel. The only thing I would suggest would be to clean all the dead wasps & stinkbugs out of the window sill (in which is the only reason I couldn't give an excellent rating) I am a...

My sister and I stayed at the Mountaineer Inn for two nights for a memorial service for our father. The staff (all of them) were terrific and very helpful. There may not be a coffee pot in the room but coffee is available in the lobby 24/7. We both brought our dogs and there was a beautiful yard for them...

I have stayed at many hotels over my time but, the Mountaineer Inn was the WORST I have ever experienced. I was in town for a family funeral and even though these may seem like complaints, they are the honest facts. Forget about an email reservation confirmation since they told me on the phone they don’t have a computer at...

My husband and I have stayed here a few times and it seem to have gone down hill. We always brought our dog and things were good. But on our last visit they said no dogs aloud. Well I understand why because some visitors let their dogs poo all over the sidewalks. But now we all have to pay for...

I came to visit my son and watch him play Lacrosse at AB. Since we live over 8 hours away, this was the closest hotel available. It's been a quiet 2 nights. This is a no frills hotel, but it is clean. My room faced the back so my view was of the hillside. No lights gave me a dark...

I come to Philippi once a year for a few days for work. I like staying in Philippi, rather than driving in from Clarksburg or Elkins each day, and the Mountaineer Inn is the only hotel in Philippi. It meets my need for lodging and was clean. There is a refrigerator in the room and a microwave. No breakfast, but...

Seriously. This is the only place in Phiippi. It was clean, quiet and affordable. The front desk gave me a discount because they hadn't received my email reservation. Yes, I would stay there again, but you really don't have much of a choice.

My husband and I stay here every year as part of a mission group. They've redone the rooms, carpet and bathrooms. It was much cleaner and nicer smelling this year than it had ever been. We get a good value as part of the group, however a regular traveller will find it very expensive as their prices are $200 a...

In to do genealogy in Philippi , not many choices in town. The Budget/Mountaineer was available, so I booked a room. The room was a throwback to the 80's but clean. No hair dryer or coffee pot in room but did have a frig & microwave. The hotel stays booked bc of the oil/gas boom, so I was lucky.I had...

I was actually pleasingly surprised. Comparable to some Choice properties I've stayed. Nice bedding, good clean carpet. Arm chair was visibly worn and no shampoo in bath. Extremely limited and small soaps. No hair drier. I would have ranked higher but a long hair on the sink dropped it down - which is a pet peeve. Honestly would stay here...
