This was a perfect place for us on our way to Snowshoe this past February. The nice lady working the desk the evening we arrived was very friendly and talkative. The rooms were clean and comfortable and it was exactly what we were looking for on our short stop in Elkins. We will definitely be back to the Iron Road...

We had to make an emergency trip to Elkins and stayed in the Iron Road Inn. They gave us a great off season rate because a dear family member was in the hospital. The room was very clean as was the whole Inn. They had a great continental breakfast and consistently asked us if we needed anything. They were so...

I stayed on the first floor. It was in the hotel side, not the lodging side. My room looked behind the building to the waterfall. The room was neat and clean. The staff was fine. They appreciated our staying there. The mattress was a bit more firm than my liking, but that happens. We were in town on business and...

We planned a girls weekend to take a train ride in hopes of seeing the fall colors in the mountains. Although we were a month or so early for the colors, the train ride was never the less beautiful and fun. The amazing surprise on this trip though was our stay at the Iron Road Inn. Clean, cozy and affordable,...

Here we are 3 girls from Michigan on a road trip. Our stay was at the Iron Road Inn. From the moment we entered this motel we were treated very nice. Kyle was on duty and she checked us in. She has a great personality and was helpful and super friendly. Our room was clean, organized and ready for us....

I would not suggest staying here if you have other choices. Rooms were lightly cleaned. Housekeeping left multiple rooms wide open and was no where in sight - neither were staff at the front desk. Dead bugs found in the room. I was treated poorly by the hotel staff when booking my room.

We had no reservation and found that all the hotels and motels in Elkins were booked except for the Iron Road Inn which is locally owned and operated. Rooms were outdated and grimy. Breakfast was just disgusting. Even the coffee was almost undrinkably weak. The receptionist was really nice, though. It is on the side of a major road and...

Locally owned is the biggest plus. Very nice staff and awesome lobby with plenty of seats and spots to hang out. Rooms feel outdated by 15+ years. Older TV (not a big deal), old lamps, loud AC unit (which is a plus for me, a light sleeper), ugly blue tile in bathrooms. It has that college dormitory feeling to it....

There were a few issues with this Hotel. We stayed in a pet friendly room because it was the only room avail. First of the toilet is about 12 inches off the floor. Great for a child but not an adult. No grab bars to help you get off the toilet or any in the shower / tub. Tub base...
