We enjoyed walking around hotel grounds and areas by the water. Large room downstairs was warm and inviting. We specifically asked about quality of beds and "Donna" told us that room #2 had a good bed and would be quiet and was across from bathroom. Bed was the worst in a hotel room I've stayed at in (30) years. They...

This place is for the traveler who wants authentic, historic atmosphere in a family-run hotel/restaurant. Skip if you need a private bath, coffeemaker, a safe, etc. It's an historic hotel! The clawfoot tub is down the hall. Draw a hot bath and enjoy it! And there IS indoor plumbing. Welcoming hosts and a delicious breakfast. I had the Oyster Eggs...

Just spent three nights over the Fourth of July. I am 83 so climbing the narrow , steep back stairs was a little difficult. Always seemed to be a very musty smell when coming in that door. And forget the bathrooms at the far end of the hall. Big, deep claw foot tubs. Impossible for me to get in or...

I've written a review on the restaurant portion of this business and I have nothing but good things to say. The hotel portion leaves a little to be desired. If you're ok with communal restrooms in a hotel, then you'll be a bit less disappointed. The rooms are as equally charming as the rest of the building. Not the cleanest...

If you love history as much as I do, you'll love the Tokeland Hotel! I have been many times with a group of friends and every time my only complaint is the lack of sound proofing through out this originally kept 1885 building and the old spring beds w/metal frames. Yes, sleep is important but you can't help but feel...

Stayed here to be closer to the fishing boat dock. That was a terrible mistake. When I checked in there was a dog running in and out of the kitchen that was directly behind the registration desk. They didnt run my credit card number but instead wrote it down in the reservation book. That definitely isn't a safe thing to...

Driving by and found this lovely historic hotel... We love history so we stopped, the hotel was closed on this Tuesday so we read the history sign outside. Soon a lovely woman came out to the front porch and we started a conversation. She invited us in to look around and welcomed our small dog as well. The woodwork is...

No customer service whatsoever!! Unfriendliness place I've ever stayed. Worst bed!!! Restaurant so-so. No "welcome" offered...No "good bye, hope you enjoyed your stay". A dog had full run in the kitchen. Grumpy owner grumbling at employees about Visa machine problems. No small coffee pot in room. No ice machine for guests. No blinds to close the window, felt very exposed!!...

We have always wanted to go to this hotel. It is very old and each room is decorated with antique furniture and quilts…very quaint. The one drawback for some might be having to share bathrooms. As it was, our room was right across the hall from us…perfect! The weekend we were there was a holiday and the owners were taking...
