This is a family-owned hotel, low price for this area, right on the 101 just east of Sequim. Our room was clean, a young guy Aaron on the desk was very polite and welcoming when we checked in, the king bed was firm and comfortable, I slept great. I've read some of the other reviews and daily maid service isn't so common nowadays, I had no problem with not having it. Towels are very small and thin but that's common in low cost hotels. There is a pool but it wasn't filled when we were there, we didn't care as we were there for the hiking and exploring, and there was no clock in the room, which we also didn't care about - have phones for that. We stayed in a first floor, middle room in the back wing of the hotel and it was quiet in our room, no sleep interruption. We couldn't figure out how to get the cable to work and Aaron's uncle came as soon as we called the desk and showed us how to do it and was polite and friendly. We brought our dog and there's a big field next to the hotel where you can take them to play and he loved that. I initially was going to book on a site but then thought I should call and make sure of the pet policy and found out that they don't take pet reservations from the booking sites, you need to call directly as they have a limited number of pet rooms and don't get that reservation from the online sites, so be sure to call them if you're bringing your pet. Personally, I wasn't expecting the Taj Mahal or the Ritz at this price, I looked for something affordable and serviceable. I found it comfortable, was glad to find a cheap place to take the dog and it was perfectly convenient to get out onto the highway and go to the forest, the shore or the mountains in and around Olympic National Park - we were there for the adventure and not to hang out in a room. I also make it a practice to book local and family-owned hotels and restaurants and this fit the bill. They do need to get around to painting and fixing minor things we saw in the room but none of those things would deter me from staying again if the price is still right, and we probably will.…
Room 306, a 'pet room' which cost $20 a night for a total of $199 PER NIGHT, had an overwhelming stench of animal urine and feces. Instead of cleaning the 20 year old carpet properly (or replacing it with a hard floor), a heavy layer of scented baking soda had been applied to mask the smells. The bathroom was in even worse shape. On top of that, the man attending the lobby was rude and angry every interaction. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
The desk clerk was unfriendly, the room was very shabby, the towels like sand paper, then we got locked out of our room and no one could get the door open until the manager got back. When I expressed my displeasure, the desk person got pissy. We left out belongings in the room and went to another hotel, then went back for our things. VERY UNPLEASANT!
Welp. For $150 I wasn’t expecting a whole lot and that’s exactly what we got haha! Just a old scrappy motel- very outdated. The bed is hard as a rock and not comfortable at all. But there is a balcony… for a last minute one night addition to our trip it’ll do.
There is a sign to ring bell if you arrive late. I did. And a very belligerent man answered. He yelled at me and initially refused to give me the key for my already paid room. He yelled at me for 10 straight min before he threw down my key. He said he would not let me have my room, if I didn't have a lady in the car. Very mean, spiteful, and classless for a dump of a place.
We had booked a room because they took pets. When we arrived we were charged $30 more for our pets even though we booked on line. They refused to give us a receipt for our $30. They showed us to room 111. When we opened the door it stank of mold and tobacco even though it said on the door no smoking. The room was shabby. The carpets were torn and worn. The spring could be felt through the mattresses. The toilet had hair on it. Some of the lights had no light bulbs in the sockets. The TV never worked. We had complained about the smell be the man at the front desk just said someone must had been smoking outside and it drifted in. After an hour there we decided to leave and go home. It cost us the room and pet charge but we could not stay there. Please read the reviews. Stay away from this property.…
It's true, you get what you pay for. Stripped down, old and dank rooms. Non-smoking now but there is 40+ years of smoking hanging out in the carpet. Everything about this place screams "needs a refresh". No food, no hair dryer and no returning for us.
First I went to check in. He asked me if I had a pet. I said yes. I put down on the reservation that we had a dog. I was told that it was not on the reservation. He was rude to me and in front of other customers. If I was trying to lie about it. Would I say yes I had a dog?? The room was sub-par. The bath knows had mold under them. Did not feel clean after leaving.
Overpriced dump. They charged us about $180 per night for a place that should cost less than $60. They don’t invest any time or money for maintenance. These are some of the things we observed: Stained bathroom floor, outlets worn out, clogged bath tub drain, broken off door latch, no room cleaning service, super noisy bathroom fan. The room had a balcony which had no furniture, so it’s not usable. I would never stay in this place again.
Because we had no other option, we stayed here. I realize it is a 2-star motel and that Covid has hit the industry hard, but we expected a little more. There was no daily maid service (which we were not informed about), we had to ask for additional supplies since what was supplied was sufficient for just 1 night, the bathroom smelled like mold--as I read in another review--mainly because of the shower curtain, the carpet is in desperate need of replacement, the beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Our neighbor had a child (I assume) who enjoyed kicking a ball against the wall. Frankly, I am very suspicious of some of the reviews I've read about this place. It is ok, but it is certainly not any of the things some of the glowing reviews say (e.g., there is NO heated pool, and this couldn't possibly be the best place someone ever stayed at!).…
