Where to start? I should have know I was in trouble upon arrival at the hotel. There was a long line of guests waiting to check in, but thankfully I saw there was an Elite check-in sign on the left most end of the check-in desks. I inquired about where was the line for elite check-in, only to be sent back to the single queue they had for all check-ins. Why offer and put up signage for Elite check-in and then put everyone in one line? That's service failure #1. Service failure #2: When I finally made it to the front desk, I asked about shuttle service to the airport. I was told to simply show up 5 minutes early IN THE LOBBY. I asked about reservations, and was assured none were needed. I mentioned it looked like the hotel was quite busy, and that I needed to make sure I made the 5:30AM shuttle. I was assured if it was busy in the morning, they'd run a second shuttle, and again, no reservation needed. The next morning when I got to the front desk at 5:25AM service failure #3 - I asked about the shuttle, was told it leaves in 5 minutes and to wait IN THE LOBBY. Guess what? I started to notice as it got closer to 5:30 that people were constantly going out the front door with their luggage...it turns out they were all lining up IN A LONG LINE OUTSIDE for the shuttle, which was marked shuttle pick-up! Both the evening and morning desk clerks told me to wait IN THE LOBBY when I should have been told to go to the outside curb and get in line. Of course, since I figured this out late, I was too far back in line to make the shuttle, and THERE WAS NO SECOND SHUTTLE RUNNING as promised! I was forced to take a Lyft to the airport at my own expense! Service failure #4: When I got to my room after check-in, the TV was BLARING on full volume on the Marriott promo channel. There was NO TV REMOTE in the room to silence it! I called the operator who told me there is no remote in the room? I then asked how do I turn off the TV then, to which she replied using the remote on the desk.... huh? There WAS NO REMOTE! After being promised someone would come up with a remote and dealing with a LOUD TV, NOBODY SHOWED! I then went down to the front desk, told them what happened, and waited there for someone to show with a remote. The man who showed up insisted that housekeeping would have replaced a missing remote. He went back to my room with me, looked around, and yep, NO REMOTE. Thankfully I was finally able to silence the TV! Service failure #5 - the toilet kept running all night! It happened frequently enough that when housekeeping made up the room, they would have noticed... but I guess if the housekeeper did not notice the missing remote, they did also not notice the toilet needed repair.... Overall a TERRIBLE experience and one that I would not wish on others. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Dear David R, I apologize for the challenges you faced during your short visit. While I can't speak to your specific airport experience, this time of year tends to be bustling with travel activity. Unlike airlines, hotels cannot predict guests' arrival or departure times in advance. Our complimentary shuttle operates on a first-come, first-served basis, running every fifteen minutes. During late evening hours when staffing levels might be lower, there could be a brief wait as we attend to approximately 12 guests arriving together from the shuttle. Regarding the issues with the missing remote control and the running toilet, these were our mistakes, and we sincerely regret the inconvenience caused. These incidents do not align with our usual standard of guest service, and we value your feedback. We will thoroughly investigate these matters with our team to prevent such occurrences in the future. Thank you for staying with Marriott.

Solid airport hotel. Stayed here because SEA-TAC is a terrible airport between traffic construction parking and delays and I didn't want the hassle in the morning. One thing I remember about this hotel is that there were no vending machines...I got in late and was hungry and there were no options even for a snack. But I got a good sleep here so I'd recommend in a pinch.

Ok hotel, beware, if you are not a pilot or flight attendant, you just another folio to be paid. I waited 4 hours for a complimentary upgrade to a room, watch multiple flight crews check-in and out, was promised extra points for my inconvenience, which I still haven't seen. My complimentary upgrade, cost me 3 suite nights, and the the room had nothing more than floor space. Very disappointed, almost like they will tell you things just to appease you but never follow through on their word.

Dear garyIR4187BB, Thank you for taking the time to post our review on Trip Advisor. I apologize for any inconvenience you encounter while attempting to check in early. I would like to clarify when you request a specific room type or upgrade and the hotel is fully committed the night prior, we must wait for that room type to be vacated and then cleaned. It is worth noting airline crews do not receive special room types or upgrades and in fact, the airline may pay for the previous night so their crew can check in early. Something you may want to consider next time to avoid a wait if you arrive early. As an airport hotel, rooms are generally similar, and an upgrade may be in fact a room with more square feet. In addition, the hotel receives many of the highest levels of Marriott Elite Bonvoy members as guests so like an airline upgrade your status plays a role here. I trust this explanation provides clarity regarding the circumstances you encountered. Thank you for staying with Marriott.

I contacted the hotel and their management company due to charge holding issues. They first held my entire 7 night stay, then daily they would hold a daily stay charge. The initial front desk agent (Bruna) was horrible. She said the holds were not bad because they were not charges. I explained these were not approved holds. She was rude. When I asked for the manager and GM's card she only gave the one for the manager. She never placed the card in my hand but blatantly placed it on the counter. I asked what that was and then asked for the GM again...she decided she no longer wanted to help me and walked away. Before that she told me I could sit and wait for someone to come talk to me. Before retreating to my room I had wasted about 20 minutes and no manager. Roger finally reached out and felt he found a way to stop the hotel from over holding on my credit card daily. He promised to follow up, but never did. This was a horrible stay and one where I was not treated nicely.

Dear anitaknight4, I would like to offer my sincerest apologies for the challenges you encountered during your recent stay with us. We highly appreciate constructive feedback and fully understand the inconvenience you experienced in relation to the charge holds on your credit card. We recognize that these incidental holds can be a cause for concern, and it is regrettable that they may have had a negative financial impact on your overall experience. It's important to emphasize that these holds are standard practices in the hotel industry, serving the purpose of covering potential incidental expenses during your stay. However, we acknowledge that clear and effective communication is paramount in handling such matters. Your willingness to work with Roger to address the issue is greatly appreciated. It's reassuring to know that you engaged in productive phone calls and emails to find a solution and follow up. The fact that we were able to resolve the holds to your satisfaction is a positive outcome, and we are pleased to see that the situation has been resolved. We regret any misunderstanding regarding the next steps in resolving the issue. Please rest assured that our primary goal is to provide a comfortable and hassle-free experience for all our guests. Regarding your interaction with Bruna, we deeply regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. We take such incidents seriously, and as Bruna was emotionally affected by this interaction, we used it as a training opportunity for her. We are committed to ensuring that all our guests are treated with respect and professionalism, and we trust that our Hosts will receive the same in return. Throughout your stay, we made various efforts to enhance your experience, and we sincerely regret that we fell short of your expectations. Your feedback is invaluable as it guides us in our continuous efforts to improve our services.

From airport pick up to check in to check out we loved our experience. Came in on Saturday afternoon for our cruise 2 days later. Shuttle was quick and very pleasant driver. It was after 3 so check in was quick and straight to the room. Room was very clean and updated. I emailed ahead to let them know about not putting scents in our room and they listened. Bar was busy and the workers very nice and helpful. Had a club sandwich and it was good. Check out was quick at 830a.m. . I will be back for sure next time we go out of Seattle.

When trying to pay my bill the day before departure to avoid the ridiculous crowds observed at the front desk, I was told by one employee that she wasn't able to separate charges because she "didn't know how to"..... (I.E. room and tax on one folio, laundry on one folio, other remaining incidentals on another). When supervisor was requested, finally "Jean" made her way out of the back office area to address my concern. I asked her to manually post "tonight" so I could settle the bill and not have to wait in the AM. She stated, "no I cant do that" to which I said, "sure you can, its done at every other Marriott hotel". She stated, "well I won't do that", again I inquired as to why because it is an inconvenience to your customer to come back in the AM. She stated again, she wouldn't do it. I said, you're the only Marriott in the world that can't apparently. I am an Ambassador Elite as well as Lifetime Titanium Elite member with over 4200 lifetime nights and 218 THIS Year alone and that "this wasn't my first rodeo" they separate charges everywhere. Again, I was met with complete resistance by Jean. ZERO REGARD to accommodate my request! Long story short, I came down in the morning to a zoo of a lobby/ front desk. Multiple people trying to check out and ONE single person working the front desk area, and once again, she "didn't know how to separate" items on the folio! This hotel either has a systemic management issue or complete ineptness with regard to training. Why would you put someone in a position without FULL training to do ALL that the job entails. Only one person that I observed seemed to really care to work, or to do what it takes to make things right. That person is Mena. She was attentive, kind, understanding, recognized a top tier elite status member when she saw one, and actually tried to make a small issue right in a previous interaction. Jean, on the other hand was basically useless in accommodation of customer service. Jean (supervisor) seriously should be re-trained. Bad attitude, aggressive, obstinate, and hard to interact with. Too stubborn and insolent to be in customer service.... telling a customer, not only can she not do it but she wouldn't do it. You should NEVER tell a customer you can't accommodate them. That's the same negative attitude that destroys businesses. There needs to be better supervision of employee customer service interaction at this hotel and and fire those employees that fail to produce. Everyone is running around yapping about minimum staff and can't get people to work so they probably don't discipline these employees that treat their customers like dirt. They should be put out. AWFUL customer service or completely unaware of HOW to perform their front desk jobs! Again, NEVER tell your customers NO I can't, NO I won't etc etc..... You should always give your customers options! My Opinion.....AVOID THIS HOTEL!!!! Apparently this is a franchise hotel and not owned by Marriott. BE WARNED!!! Really bad experience here and I've been a top tier Marriott status member for over 27 years. ZERO regard for Marriott top loyalty guests. ZERO!

Responded 18 Sept 2023
Dear G4Pilot, I'm sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with Marriott, and I understand your frustration. It's important to note that not all service procedures are the same at every hotel, even within the same brand. While Marriott has brand standards and guidelines for customer service, there can still be variations in how individual hotels handle certain situations and training levels among staff. It's unfortunate that you encountered difficulties with the front desk staff, particularly with the issue of separating charges on your bill. In a situation like this, it is essential for hotel staff to be well-trained and knowledgeable about their systems and procedures to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience for guests. The hospitality industry has faced unique challenges in recent years, including difficulties in hiring and retaining staff. While this can sometimes impact the service level, we strive to prioritize training to provide the best customer service. Your feedback regarding Mena's positive attitude and efforts to assist you is valuable, and it's great to hear when an employee goes above and beyond to make guests feel valued. Your feedback is important, and hotel management takes it seriously to improve their service quality and staff training. It's unfortunate that your experience was not up to your expectations, especially as a loyal Marriott member. Thank you for sharing your concerns, and I hope your future stays with Marriott are more pleasant.

This was the first night of vacation as we’d flew into Seattle to rent a motorcycle and spend the week exploring the PNW. We quickly grabbed dinner at the restaurant since it was 9pm and everything was about to close up. The room was clean and it looks like the property is very closely following the Marriott brand standards. Overall a great experience. If we return to Seattle, we would stay there again.
