We returned once again to our favorite B&B and, as always, wished we could have stayed longer. Jim and Gail provide warm, caring hospitality; and as longtime and active residents, they will provide suggestions for local resources geared to one's interests. The superb waterfront location on Admiralty Inlet provides easy access to the beach, views of the Cascades, inspiring sunrises...

First and foremost, Jim and Gail are both good-natured, funny, helpful, and delightful people to be around. The breakfasts were awesome. They even invited my brother and sister-in-law, who live in PT, to join us for breakfast one day. The setting is peaceful and beautiful. The location is convenient to PT restaurants and shops.

This B&B is in an ideal beachfront location on Hudson Point, near restaurants and a marina and within easy walking distance of Port Townsend's historic main streets. All the rooms are clean and comfortable and three of them (the Lighthouse Suite, Island View Room, and Schooner Room) offer superb views. There's a spacious living room where excellent gourmet breakfasts are...

Relax in the adirondack chairs looking out over the water with the mountains in the background. We watched sea gulls and then to our delight noticed a bald eagle - magnificent. The B&B is welcoming, cozy and with delightful hosts! Port Townsend is a great little town - a variety of restaurants and shops to peruse while strolling through the...

What a wonderful first night to start our week trip to the Seattle WA area. This was my husband's first B&B experience and Jim and Gail have now set a high bar. The room was comfortable and so quiet. Loved hearing nothing but the gentle waves, an occassional sea bird and the fog horn of the ferry in the morning....

My sister and I had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Breakfasts were delicious with good variety over the four days, and the house was warm and inviting. Gail and Jim checked in on us regularly to ensure we had all we needed.

If you are looking for a quiet place to stay just a couple of blocks from downtown, I highly recommend this. Jim and Gail were happy to share their recommendations on where to spend our time while in Pt. Townsend. The room was comfortable and the views across the water were incredible.

My sister and I stayed one night here in a very comfortable bed in the cute Schooner room. Gail was very accommodating as we came later than we had anticipated. I gave her a call to let her know and she was very gracious. She even upgraded our room from the one we booked (Sunflower room) to the Schooner with...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Commander's Beach House is the only bed and breakfast that is located right on the water in downtown Port Townsend. You can walk on the beach to Fort Worden or easily stroll three blocks along the water front to all of the downtown shops and restaurants. Three of our rooms face the water and have private baths. Our fourth room faces the garden and has a shared bath located inside of the room. You can enjoy views of Admiralty Inlet, Mt. Baker, Whidbey Island, all of the boats and ships that go into Seattle, as well as vintage wooden schooners and yawls. Eagles, herons, otters and seals are frequently seen by our guests. A full sit down gourmet breakfast is served at individual tables or on our veranda, weather permitting. Come fall asleep lulled by the sounds of the sea and "relax and solve nothing"! ... more   less
