You can get to Seattle from Port Orchard via the Washington State Ferry System. There is a passenger ferry between Port Orchard and Bremerton and a Car/Passenger ferry from Bremerton to Seattle. The trip is about an hour. Pike Place Market is about 6 blocks from the Ferry Terminal in Seattle.
There is an Amtrak station approximately 6 blocks south of the Seattle Ferry Terminal and also one in Tacoma.
