Doe Bay is a rustic, homey and unusual place to go...I recently had dinner with friends At the Doe Bay cafe....The offerings were unusual and quite tasty...there is a new chef and he has an adventurous palate...locally sourced organic vegetables and delicious Black Cod...among the seafood offerings...If you are a meat eater, this is not the place for you...There was...

We had a beautiful winter break on Orcas Island. Hiking trails were open and views very nice. It is cold this time of year, so very happy to return to Doe Bay Report. They have a spa and three large hot soaking tubs, and dry sauna. It can also be used by visitors who pay a day fee who aren't...

My daughter and her boy friend arranged for us to stay at Doe Bay along with them. They stayed in a campsite; we stayed in a cabin. Reading the reviews, I got a little worried as there were several "horrible" evaluations. Our experience was excellent. I think the problem is the "resort" in the facility's name. There are plenty of...

The resort was nice, I didn't spend much time enjoying the amenities but it looked like there was a lot to do and the views were very nice. the food was excellent, probably the best crab cake eggs benedict I've ever had. my cabin was nice, it was one of the new ones, better than others based on what I...

We took our Westy van to Orcas Island and Lopez Island. I chose Lopez over San Juan Island specifically because it is more laid back. Doe Bay Resort was a wonderful place to camp and relax. It's totally operated by hippies and they do a darn fine job. We made use of the common showers and the common kitchen (for...

This place has its following but unfortunately it wasn't a good fit for my wife and I. We stayed 4 nights and 5 days in the "Mala" cabin and paid about $183 for the weekend nights and $146 for the other nights. The "Mala" cabin is about 500 yards up the hill from the bay and cafe. THE GOOD: Doe...

We stayed at this "resort" on August 19 and 20. It is like going to a hippie commune from 1960's or 1970s. The people who give this place 4 or 5 stars seem to have camped or slept in a yurt and there are lots of camping spaces and yurts on the property. I guess they would rate all pop...

The waitress informed me point blank no accommodation for diet restrictions was permitted. I was very excited to see rice noodles, kale and other seldom seen foods on the menu, but there was not one entree I could eat in its entirety. I asked for the individual items that I can eat and was immediately told that they make no...

We camped out in the Sea Sparkles site which was one of the furthest points from the main area, right on the water. After our dinner at the cafe, and a naked dip in the hot pools, we sat outside our tent and watched the stars. We ended up hearing whales breaching for about an hour. In the morning we...
