A nice quiet retreat, just a little ways out of Gig Harbor. Beautiful grounds, very pleasantly appointed rooms. Cookies and beverages upon arrival. Great for a romantic getaway, or a few couples can get together for a nice retreat.

I had an awesome night at the Bear's Lair. Definitely coming back to the carrige house. Definitely loved the breakfast menus too. It was fantastic and so original. So recommendable. There isn't much to explore around (maybe) but this place spiced up much.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this beautiful B&B. We stayed in the Carriage house which was an incredible spot with complete privacy. We liked everything about it - the views of the woods and gardens, the gorgeous features designed and built by Giulio (a wonderful cabinet maker), the fantastic breakfasts cooked and served by Jen and...

As others have said (repeatedly), this is the place to stay in or near Gig Harbor, Jen and Gulio are the most wonderful, warm and caring people, the buildings are fabulous, the décor is outstanding. the meals are wonderfully spectacular and the ambiance is peaceful, restful and reinvigorating. Everything you need or want is provided, every detail has been considered...

Have you ever noticed how many reviews go over the top—gushy in their praise of a place to the point of losing all credibility? The Bear’s Lair deserves more. I would call our stay here “Just Right.” For most B&Bs, the turnover is nightly. We booked 10 nights, while our daughter went through labor to deliver a beautiful baby boy....

We stayed for a week in July 2015 and can't wait to go back. The beautiful grounds were very inviting and so quiet. We stayed in the carriage house and it was like staying in our own condo, with a full kitchen and private deck. Jen and Giulio were very gracious hosts with knowledge of the area. Our breakfasts were...

The Bear’s Lair is the epitome of perfection and peace, run by people who care. They designed, then built the beautiful house from the ground up while they lived in a trailer on the property. The woodwork is artfully created by Giulio – large beams, rich wood paneling and even some furniture. It is obvious that Giulio is a master...

Incredibly cozy! The hosts Jen and Giulio were some of the nicest people we've met. They built this b&b from the ground up BY HAND. The passion they have for their guests and their life shows in everything they do. Best getaway ever. Will be back many times I'm sure! We were able to unplug and relax. We enjoyed every...

A bit of an old fashioned place, but I like that. Decore is late 1980s/early 1990s, everything is in good repair, chachkies are kept to a minimum. The grounds and home and scrupulously maintained, and the breakfast is good and fresh; no creepy plastic container coffee makers here. Everything is of very good quality and it is very convenient to...

Located a few minutes by car from "downtown" Gig Harbor, surrounded by stately evergreens, and a home to wonderful hosts, this B&B is indeed a breath of fresh air. Jen is the perfect hostess, friendly, helpful and willing to listen to our tales of travels. Giullio is a true crafstman. They both work together well having spent years building their...
