This place should be avoided at all costs. Was hoping to spend 2 nights for a special weekend in the alpaca suite. The room was changed without my consent upon arrival. The suite we were put in instead had no curtains and privacy, no wifi or satellite tv as advertised and was horribly decorated and unclean. The people on the...

It is on a working farm which seems quaint. They do not see themselves as hotel guest people. 'If you have a problem come find us, we'll be out here somewhere on the 35 acres. We don't have a receptionist." Farmer Zack says, 'We don't lock doors around here, we've never had a problem.' I could love that . ....

I couldn't even get there before these people were rude to me! They say they are SO pet friendly that they love animals more than people. Well... they definitely don't seem to love people, but I don't know about animals either. They have a great pet policy on their website (although it's $60 fee!) I was prepared to swallow that,...

We enjoyed a sunny weekend on the farm in March! Shana took us on a few tours of the farm and made it an enjoyable visit for all of us. The kids loved all the animals and we noticed how well they were cared for at the farm. They got to feed the chickens and the alpacas, put the goats...

This "farm" is a representation of everything that could be great if it were managed properly. This property is run by people who are not friendly to guests, and treat them as a burden rather than paying customers. The property is in a beautiful geographic location, but the grounds lack maintenance and many parts of it have been left to...

During any visit to Orcas island, make sure to AVOID this location. The owner and staff are rude, discourteous, and overall not very honest people. At first the staff can seem pleasant, but be warned that this is not their real demeanor. We stayed as a large group and the owner did not uphold the terms of our contract -...

Our family of 4 stayed in the Alpaca Suite last week. The owner Shana and her son were very welcoming and warm. We felt comfortable wondering the property and took advantage of seeing all we could see. The friendly goats were especially fun for the kids. The cottage was so warm and cozy and the decorations were charming.! We stayed...

I am sorry to say that although there is a certain charm at being on the farm and it was fun to see the animals, expected more for the high rates. About the worst customer service I have ever had in that the owner seemed to be too busy to deal with the guests. very cold reception, had to walk...

My family and I stayed at Once in a Blue Moon Farm in September. This was our first time on Orcas Island and we enjoyed every moment. We stayed in the Alpaca Suite, which is aptly named since the very cool alpacas live in the pasture behind the suite. In addition to a very comfy bed, with great pillows (it's...

My adult daughter and I loved our two-night stay at Once in a Blue Moon in the barn loft. It was very clean, has wonderful decor, comfy beds and all the kitchen essentials, including a dozen fresh organic eggs in the frig! We wandered around the farm on our own and met the horses, chickens and goats. We missed trying...

“Alpaca suite is very good for a family that has older children that can enjoy the loft area. It has a kitchenette which is very handy (microwave, sink, utensils, glasses)”
