I would say about 3 miles. The University is on the south end of town. I can't remember if it is the first or second exit as you approach Bellingham from the south( and it is several blocks west of I-5). This motel is at the third exit north of the University exit.
Bellingham is not a very big town. If you are from there, you would probably go straight down Meridian and go through town to get to Western. But if you are not familiar with the area, the freeway is usually how you would go.
