This was our fourth trip to Williamsburg, and our fourth stay at the Cedars. We won't stay anywhere else when we come to Williamsburg, because the Cedars is our home away from home. The house is always spotless, the staff always goes out of their way to make you feel at home and help you in any way that they... More

We were so fortunate to be able to spend 2008 Thanksgiving at this charming and delightful inn in Williamsburg. The inn has instant appeal from the moment we arrived. It has all the charm that Williamsburg has to offer with walking distance to the historic district close by. The room we stayed in was just as described, with a large... More

Wonderfully decorated room - and also spotlessly clean. The courtesy snacks/hot cider were a great treat, and we actually enjoyed sitting down in the game room for a backgammon game (which we rarely do!). The charming hosts were both cheerful and attentive, and they really made us feel like special guests. GREAT BREAKFAST TOO !!

We arrived at the Cedars and the house welcomed us from the street! Beautiful gardens and quaint brickpathways led us to the front of the large historic brick building on Jamestown Road. We were greeted by two lovely staffmembers who immediately gave us a tour of the property and showed us to our first floor room (yeah-no stairs!!). Abundant snacks... More

What a great find! Beautiful cosy and clean room - everything provided. Great hosts in Bob and Grace. Delicious breakfast provided by Kim- such variation and cooked with such professionalism. Drinks and snacks always readily available - house was available for whole of stay. Williamsburg a great place for exploring - lovely restaurants - Trellis and Fat Canary especially. Jamestown... We seem to have had a very different experience at the Cedars from the other laudatory accounts. We thought it suffered terribly from bed and breakfastits. the rooms and hallways were cloyingly perfumed and the breakfast was supersweet and lukewarm, even though we were the only ones staying there. Every room has been turned into a bedroom so there is... More

Bob-Tubbs, Owner at Cedars of Williamsburg Bed and Breakfast, responded to this review

Needless to say, even though we make the effort to achieve a balance at the Cedars, we do not succeed with everyone. If you look hard and long enough, faults will be found. The Cedars has been an operating bed and breakfast since 1932. What it may lack in amentities, it has in its charm, over 30% repeat guest rate,... More

The Cedars is a loverly Bed and Breakfast adjacent to the College of William and Mary. It is ideal if you are visiting the university and want something a bit more cozy and intimate than the many hotels/motels in Williamsburg. The owner is very cordial and the breakfast really wonderful. I would request a room in the back of the... More

We only stayed one night and had to leave before breakfast, but what a great place! We stayed over a Sunday night and were lucky enough to have the entire house to ourselves. We stayed in the George Washington room which was very nice. The house is cozy, the greeting was warm and friendly. We were made to feel very... More

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Cedars. While we stayed as part of a group, Bob and his wife made sure to treat us as individuals - making sure to attend to our individual needs/questions while taking care of the entire group. We enjoyed a first-class room outside the main house as well as the excellent... More
