We stayed at this hotel for a night during a recent road trip. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained; nice and clean. The lady at the front desk, however, was so rude and dismissive and I would go as far as saying she was a little racist. She treated my mother so

Response from GstSrvceMngr, General Manager at Hampton Inn & Suites Williamsburg Historic District
Responded 2 weeks ago
Thanks for your input and response. I have reviewed the surveillance video/audio and you had two rooms booked through Expedia for the wrong date last week and according to you the wrong room type. The desk clerk contacted Expedia who stated they would reach out to you due to the errors. In addition the clerk gave you a complimentary upgrade to suites and honored the lower rate that Expedia had booked for a different time. At no point of the conversation did I witness rude speech or racists behavior. When you came back down to inform her you had the wrong room type she replied, "Not a problem" and upgraded your room to a suite!! We take very seriously accusation of that sort and would encourage you to be careful when throwing out the word racist. It really boggles my mind to see this kind of review come out after what the employee did for you. Thanks.

Is the pool still open the weekend of Sept 27th thru Sept 30th?
We visited in early October and it was open. It's indoors.

when was this hotel built? has it been remodeled recently?
I don't know when it was built. It is not a recent remodel. However, it is not extremely worn-looking. Thus, it is about average wear, or so it seemed to me and my wife.
