Other than the aggressive roper who greeted us at the door, we had a great time at this resort. It is so large but yet everything is convenient. We had a one bedroom deluxe on the top floor. Everything was clean and in working order. Beautiful view of the little lake in the center of the buildings. We especially appreciated the fire pit and the Tranquil Pool. We would definitely stay her again on our next trip to Williamsburg.
Everything was great until the day I left on 6/23/22. As soon as I arrived in Norfolk, VA I realized that I had left the bag with one pair of jeans and 3 athletic leggings. I called the Governor's Green immediately. They told me that I needed to fill out the form on I Lost My Stuff.com. I did so. At the bottom of the form it said that if I had not heard anything in 2 days to contact Governor's Green. So yesterday 8/28/22, I did. I also filled out the form again on 6/26/22. I was told that they knew nothing, and that the people at I lost my stuff.com should get back to me. I asked if I could get the phone number to call someone and talk to a real person. I was told that they did not have it. I'm quite sure at this point that I will never hear from anyone. I think that whoever cleaned the room took the items-which were worth at least $250 dollars. I am very irritated by the lack of concern about this situation. Jeanne Nelson…
What needed attention: the mini golf course is almost full sun and wasn't cleaned while we were there a week. The sidewalks are almost impossible to walk on due to all the goose droppings. I feel those need power washed at least daily. We used the playground with the children and there were big puddles under the swings after the rain --for several days. Needs mulched. What was good: Pools, cleanliness of rooms, comfy beds, quietness. Lots of nice fluffy towels. Dishes were adequate. Really great friendly guard at the gate.
From the start, I had excellent service from all associated with this resort, from all phone calls to later when visiting in person: Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating each and every time. The staff member that stands out with me is Russell - he was awesome in every way! A great asset to your company. I had wonderful conversations with Carla and also the young lady who worked at the adjacent Club Wyndham desk in lobby of the Check-in Building - wonderful, friendly, personable people! The beautiful resort property was huge, so a lot for staff needed to maintain. Was always very clean and tidy, rooms, elevators, grounds - all so clean and neat - such an added blessing to the trip! I enjoyed our stay so much, I am already thinking of returning with other members of my family. …
Governors Green was in a great central location convenient to restaurants and local travel. The Staff was very friendly and maintenance people helpful! I love the overall quietness of the surrounding area. The beds were like pillows. The elevator was also a pleasant surprise!!! 😎. However, Next time I will definitely request the top floor to avoid the running of little feet at 6:00am and 11:30pm
Resort was first class. Easy to get to, and very conveint to attractions and restaurants, Unit was spacious and very well appointed. Staff was very helpful and professional. Would come back next vacation in Williamsburg.
Very comfortable unit and we felt very secure with the guard house at the entrance. All our needs were met with a smile. Unit was stocked with all needed items of good quality. Bedding was very comfortable and unit was quiet for sleeping.
I stayed at Wyndham Governor's Green in Williamsburg, Virginia for a week the end of February 2022 with a group of friends. We have been going there for many years with gorups as large as 20 and as few as seven this year. Since our visit, I have tried several times to reach the management and express my concerns; however, I have not received a return call. I have been told by the employees answering the phone that they cannot give out the manager's name. We had three condos. The first had food spilled on the kitchen counter. Generally, the kitchen needed to be cleaned. In the second condo the 2nd shower needed to be unclogged. By day 2, we were standing in dirty water. Several calls were made to the main office with no response. The bedroom closest to the second bathroom had enough dust on the bed headboard that you could see it from across the room. The bed frame was projecting out from the bed and one could hurt their legs by running into it. Floors were vacuumed in the middle. No vacuuming was done under the dresser with the TV and not around the other furniture. All of this was very visible. In the last condo, we literally needed to knock down webs to be able to get into the condo. Not one, but quite a few which led us to find it hard to believe that anyone had recently checked the condo. When we first came here we were very impressed by the cleanliness and ammenities provided. Cleanliness was not apparent this year. There was not much evidence of sanitizing for COVID-19 or staff wearing masks. This was an extremely disappointing visit, especially when I know things have been and can be better. We are looking for other locations for the future.…
Just a few maintenance issues, but we did enjoy the hot tub, the grills. Resort was relaxing, not noisy this off season. Convenient to shopping, restaurants, Colonial Williamsburg. The mattress, we thought it was too soft, but we slept
Everything you would want in a suite (size, accommodations, jacuzzi, etc.). Also, outdoor activities on prem (e.g. miniature golf) were a bonus. Near to attractions such as wineries, Busch Gardens and the ocean.
