You get what you pay for. We were looking for an inexpensive hotel for an impromptu weekend away. This was convenient to colonial Williamsburg. Room is small, needs updating, isn’t sparkling clean - but serves the purpose of a place to sleep. No need to spend time in the hotel. Owner was friendly.

Some good deals like this one should be tossed back in the sea. I was taking my niece to Busch Gardens for what should have been a day trip, but plans changed and we found what we thought was a good deal on a room. Looks are deceiving! It looks kinda cozy, homelike from the outside, but is very much dated and is in need of a deep clean and maintenance. Had to switch rooms upon checkin due to dirt being in the bed and there was a nasty looking suspicious white stain on the floor beside the bed, one can only imagine. The second room definitely smelled better/cleaner thankfully, but was still outdated, dirty in places, rusted, which you can see in the pictures. A more concerning note, the plug to the lamp didn't look safe at all, looks like a fire hazard (plug coming apart). We didn't have hot water until calling and having someone come to fix the issue. After the hot water came in, nasty brown water came out of the faucet then turned cloudy. I'll add as well that the bathroom window (pictured) with thin curtains faces a restaurant (you can see people eating); I felt self conscious taking a shower, hoping that no one saw me. If you do decide to stay or have to, make sure that you take cleaning supplies with you for your own comfort. I regretted not booking one of the other hotels nearby that might've been a tad bit more, it would've been worth it. Upside was that the young lady who checked us in was friendly.

I checked out the available rooms and prices on the internet and found this motel to meet our needs. I enjoyed the stay and recommend staying here. The manager Hamen handled the booking and confirmation well and when we arrived he was very professional and prompt. The room hostess Gloria was very kind and went out of her way to assist us from extra towels and toiletries. Gloria deserves five stars and is an strong asset to this motel.

This hotel is a family run hotel. And i would not recomend this hotel to anyone. My observation was the room and property were old and not up to date. And the bed mattress were badly stained with yellow circles.

Positives: Staff was very friendly and check in was a breeze. The pool looked nice and spacious although my husband and I did not use it and it looked like it got clean multiples times a day. The location was close to all the attractions and lots of restaurants. The room was clean and for what you pay is a decent size. There is a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room. The TV was good quality with a wide range of channels to pick from. Water pressure in the shower was pretty good and water stayed warm. The bed sheets and pillows were nice and clean Negatives: For some reason this hotel does not give you toiletries ( mini shampoo, soap, etc.) which is not a big deal as you can bring them with you or make a quick run to the store. The bed is very hard and rather uncomfortable (which isn’t uncommon in a hotel). The building is right by the train tracks and you can hear the trains going by through out the night (about 3-4 of them) so if you aren’t a very deep sleeper this will be an issue. The WiFi in the room works but it goes in and out a lot. The safe in our room didn’t work. Housekeeping does not come everyday and towels are not changed out. The exterior of the hotel is run down and can make you feel a little uneasy. Although the website said there is breakfast offered in the lobby daily my husband and I never actually saw it. Not sure if we went too early, too late, or they just don’t offer it anymore. Overall I believe we would stay here again. Update: The A.C. in our room broke on our last night here, we didn’t bother to ask for it to be fixed since we were leaving in the morning. It did make for a miserable night after many attempts of turning it back on and off, switching it from low to high, and vise versa we gave up.

Absolutely horrible. Trust the negative viewest. You get what you pay for? Then this hotel should be no more then 20 bucks a night. Rude staff, peeling wallpaper, shower had unknown fluids on it, maid did not clean anything. Pool looked like you would need a tetanus shot if you swam in it.

Myself and my son stayed one night 07/20/-07/21/2018,boy I can tell this motel is in a very bad shape, not safe at all. Check In were friendly and polite, now to the room. First I never ever stayed in a room in the past 15 years with a actual Key and no card. The door did not even close well even with a deadbolt from inside, it would be so easy to open this door from the outside. Inside, the room was filthy, nasty and the bed oh boy...The Matresses were so nasty and stained, bed had wholes burned from cigarettes. The bathroom was kind of Ok besides the Tub we did shower with Flip Flop's on. Wifi did not work on the building we stayed in, very old and outdated. Overall experience, cross. The Motel was simply forgotten in the end 70's or begin 8o's and nothing invested. Tip, Williamsburg is a beautiful town pay more in Lodging and be happier!!!

I recently stayed at this facility during a weekend visit to Williamsburg. I have visited the area off and on for the past 27 years and generally have had good to very good experiences. Such was not the case on this visit. It began with my room assignment. I am accustomed to staying in rooms that have sturdy doors with keyless entries with key cards. In my room, the key card did not work; instead I was given...a key. Although the door had a deadbolt lock, the door itself was neither strong nor safe. Once inside the room, the decorum looked dated and worn, but in relatively clean and in good order. The plasma screen television had a nice picture. All of the light fixtures in the front part of the room worked. The light fixture over the sink did not work. The bathtub was not clean. There was an unrecognizable stain (maybe dried tobacco or body fluid?) and a dead insect (spider?) stuck on the surface. I reported this to the manager first thing in the morning, but the tub was not cleaned until later in the evening when I reported the problem to the manager...again. The person who cleaned the tub was pleasant and apologetic. When I used the shower on day #2 of my visit, only cold water came out. I had the water on for 7 or 8 minutes, plenty of time for hot water to come on. I reported this to the manager at check out. Rather than accept ownership for what I reported and apologize, he went up to my room, checked the water himself, and reported back that the water was working and said it took a while for hot water to come on for the part of the building I was staying. He also suggested that I didn't know how to work hot and cold water. I was insulted, but kept my cool. When I recounted how poor my overall experience was, he seemed to become defensive. I asked if my bill could be adjusted because of my experience, he said no. We talked a few moments longer, then the manager said," Goodbye Sir, God Bless You!" There was no attempt to offer to make things right, appease me as a frustrated customer, or at least give me a number where I could lodge a formal complaint to the ownership group who either doesn't know or doesn't care about the conditions of the motel. Here is my lesson that I want to pass along to you: there is a reason why this facility has so many ratings of "poor" and "terrible". Pay attention to the ratings! For a few dollars more per night, you can likely do better. Caveat emptor - "Let the buyer beware." If you can afford to say at a well known hotel or motel chain, by all means do so.

Everybody leaving negative reviews probably expect to pay $50 for a room and get a 5 Star room. You get what you pay for and we were very happy with our stay. Good location and clean and safe for $50. What more can you ask for?
