The hotel is older and could use some updates but our room was clean and the staff was very friendly. The pricing was outstanding and there is no fee for dogs. Very convenient to Colonial Williamsburg and downtown.
Checked in over Thanksgiving because they allow pets. But apparently they are no longer cleaning rooms. With Covid, yopu would think they would do extra. Top drawer of the dresser had enough pet hair to make mittens. I cleaned the floor with a towel because the parking lot was cleaner. Paint peeling in the bathroom, mold under the sink. The ceiling had been patched and only painted in strips to look like zebra stripes on the ceiling. The towels had hole and black make-up stains. Come on it would have only been another $25 worth of paint. After a complaint, the responce was "we are sorry you were not happy"
Filthy! Floors were disgustingly dirty! Obviously had not been cleaned and mopped for quite some time! Counters also spotted and dirty. I had to clean and wipe down every surface with Lysol and Clorox wipes before using. Toilet not bolted to floor causing it to rock back and forth when sat on. Mini fridge leaked water, wiped up and towels were black from nasty floor. TV Remote control was taped to keep batteries from falling out as back was broke off. Rooms and exterior of hotel looked neglected, needed paint and mats outside doors were old and tattered. NEVER AGAIN will I stay at a Red Roof Inn, I will gladly pay a little extra to stay at a hotel in which cleanliness is a priority! Do Not Recommend!!
Wow! What a pleasant surprise… after reading some reviews my family was sooo skeptical of staying here but we took our chances & were pleasantly surprised… super clean room (looks like newly renovated)… I talked to manager Harry before checking in… May be he did his magic…:) Based on this room.. I highly recommend !!
Holy cow this place looked nothing like the photos. Very run down and dirty. Upon first entering our room there was hair (like beard clippings) in the sink. It smelled of smoke and the floors had visible dirt. The manager promptly called housekeeping and it was addressed; but even so the rooms are very run down. The area is not great and we could smell weed constantly. Def won't go back!
This is a very clean place and not too pricey. It is in a great location - very close to 2 excellent restaurants - Sals which is right across the street and Capitol Pancakes. The staff at Red Roof is very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this location.
Very clean, updated room with refrigerator and microwave, pet friendly accommodation. Not pretty outside, but it's inside that counts, and it was refreshingly clean. You don't go to RRI for five star hotel lodging, but this particular RRI is a five star budget lodging. Highly recommend.
Good location. Good staff. Ceiling between upstairs downstairs is poor sound barrier, offers no sound protection. You hear every step, drop, chair move etc.. if it’s an active party or with children above it’s like trying to sleep under a freeway. If your room is on the side by travel lodge, which appears to allow local families extended stay, you’ll see at times 20 people on the balcony smoking, drinking, yelling, staring at you and your possessions as you come and go. Stay upstairs, on side away from travelodge or somewhere else if you want privacy and sleep.
Clean rooms and friendly staff. Coffee and muffins complimentary breakfast. Water shower was warm but not hot enough. TV remote needs replacement due to buttons worn-out. Convienient and close enough to Busch Gardens. Close drive to Premium outlet. Tons of restaurants within driving and few walking distance.
We stayed 2 nights at the hotel and really enjoyed our stay. The room was big and had a refrigerator and a microwave oven. The continental breakfast was basic but OK. The lady at the desk was really nice and patient. We used the laudry room and everything was perfect. It is situated in a quiet area and not far from the Colonial Williamsburg.
