This hotel is rundown, filthy, and unsanitary. Every area of this BW Williamsburg needs renovation and deep cleaning. The breakfast is a joke, terribly unsanitary - dirty eating area - tables not cleaned - trash not emptied - one gallon bottle of milk that every guest touched, uncapped and used. It was disgusting.
This hotel is literally walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg. Busch Gardens and Water Country USA are a very short (<10 min) drive. There are several places to eat nearby, as well as the attached restaurant. Will stay here again the next time we visit.
Staff is great but I killed 4 roaches in the bathroom that ran from behind the mirror when the lights were turned on 🤢 and the head boards were filled with dust like they had not been cleaned in months.
The hotel both in common areas and well as the room was very dirty. Stains on carpets, floors in hallways never vacuumed and trash was never picked up, the pool are was dingy and the water looked murky, sticky floors and dirty tables at breakfast, employees smoking at the entrance/exit on the side of the building. It was less than ideal and I would not recommend nor will I be returning. The only positive was the nice lady at twj desk and the proximity to bush gardens.
After reading other reviews I was really worried because we booked only looking at the location. It was not as bad as the reviews stated. First, the location is awesome, only a few blocks walk from historic district and a 10 minute drive to Busch Gardens. Also we did not see any bugs anywhere during our stay. The place, however, is truly very rundown and needs new everything. The staff at the front desk were wonderful, very friendly and accommodating. We very much appreciated the mini fridge and microwave, although the microwave was a little dodgy like the turntable did not fit. It was clean enough, but I travel with Clorox wipes and Lysol spray so no big deal. The shower hot water and water pressure were really good; the sink faucet is in a weird place, making it awkward to use without touching the back of the sink. If they renovated it would be my go to place due to location but next time I will check out the other hotels next door first.…
For a best western, this is not up to par. Very run down inside, including carpets. Room was dusty and not wiped down upon arrival. Bathtub has mold/ mildew. Yuck! On the second day, housekeeping only took trash and replaced towels. When did this change happen? Also second day, one of our rooms the track was not removed. Bfast was a circus. Gross food and only one worker trying to keep up with the mass people coming through. All good was microwaved except for sausage. Ran out of coffee numerous times. Never stay again. It reminded me of a motel 6
We reserved 2 rooms for our trip to Busch Gardens. We drove to the park and stayed there until closing so we arrived at the hotel late night. The first sign of problems was with the elevator (lobby is on 2nd floor and our room was on 4th floor). There were some mystery sounds and a clunk prior to arriving on our floor (wasn't sure we were going to get to floor 4 due to the sounds and the fact that the floor number didn't light up when pressed). Upon reviewing the elevator certificate of compliance (in the frame with BROKEN GLASS), it was last inspected on Aug 21, 2020!! The next issues were upon entering the rooms (yeah...we made it to the 4th floor). One room (452) was nice and cool but had HUGE stains on the ceiling. The room my husband and I stayed in (456) was hot as blazes. We immediately turned on the a/c but it took nearly an hour to start feeling comfortable. I noticed the phone had exposed wires, the ceiling had a large stain on it and there was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. If it wasn't so late at night, I'd have asked for a different room but it probably would have been just as filthy and nasty. The next morning, we opened the curtains and saw the disgusting windows. They told us at check-in that breakfast was served on the 3rd floor. I thought that unusual too but thought maybe they had a lounge/dining area built on that floor. Wrong. It was apparently some conference room located right in the middle of other hotel rooms. They had about 6 tables (that seat 6) set up for hotel guests. When we finally found the room (followed the smell of pancakes/sausage), I immediately looked for the coffee. There was only decaf and hot water. I asked the lady cooking sausage if there was more coffee and she apparently couldn't speak much English since she just told me "un minuto" and pointed at the ceiling. Some other hotel guest told me coffee was in the lobby. After eating some pancakes and sausage, I went in search for coffee in the lobby. While walking to find the stairs, my husband texted me that they just brought coffee to the breakfast area. I returned and got a cup to go -- couldn't get out of that hotel fast enough. If you travel to Williamsburg...don't even consider this hotel. Stay Elsewhere!!…
The staff members not concern about providing best customer service. They give you the worse room if you get their early. Last, take my gift card with false promises that you can use to my room rate. Justin took my gift card by accident and never return it. Last Jim Kelley does not train his staff members correctly lets them go rogue. I asked for 2 extra blankets only got one extra. Linens old blankets with no label on the blanket that tells me hotel. Hotel should replace the blankets more often to convince people to stay longer. No hottub dirty toilet. Mystery hair on toilet seat when we check took staff members 3 hours to clean the toilet. We checked in at 3pm. I am so glad my girl friend book this place vs i. Terrible hotel room and nightmare below standards. Some praying for god from 8pm to midnight. Yelling in a conference room on 3rd floor staff members did not care on a Friday night. Went to the front desk 3 times no action on this. Asked to have bare stools removed…
This hotel was filthy. Carpets really gross; never took off our shoes because of that. Huge hole with dripping water in roof outside the window. Mirror in bathroom covered in toothpaste spray. Window smudged with fingerprints. Someone else’s socks under the bed. Trash can covered with a sticky substance. TV barely turned on. Main door had holes in it near the lock and the screws are loose so worried about someone easily knocking down the door. Beds were so uncomfortable and you just sunk into the mattress. Probably slept two hours total because it was so uncomfortable. This hotel is cheap but just think about the clientele that utilizes hotel like that. Was worried for our safety on numerous occasions. The only plus was the central location and the shower was hot with good water pressure. You are WAY better off paying extra for literally ANY other hotel.…
Stayed here twice, Aug 2021 and May 2022. BW Award members beware - their accountant "works after 11:30 PM" so you can't get your bill reduced by using awards. Both times, no adjustment to bill. Also, it's dirtier than 2021, when we had a nice stay though no award adjustment despite calling them. This time, cereal left spilled on main stair for days, ceiling tiles strewn on breakfast room floor.
