As I have come to the hotel and bar over 5 years- mixed experiences. Since the bar and restaurant are separated- see inconsistent behavior as you do any franchises. Katie is extremely talented employee who bends over backwards to keep customers happy. She is prefect!! The hotel needs more staff to compete at the next level. They are better run than 42 Nd Street Marriott and Cavalier. However, they consider themselves as a niche hotel.... not true As a Diamond for life and Plantium Executive with Marriott, I believe they are the Ritz and equal to 31 st Hilton. Hi we stayed here for a few days before Christmas. Very nice hotel, room, facility, staff, etc. very close to everything. Would stay here again. Valet & front desk staff were excellent. Very nice amenities.
We had trouble booking. The direct hotel and the main number bounced us all over for three days. Finally hit "0" and got the front desk. We advised them there was a phone issue. Caitlin greeted us upon check in and also called to advise our bag had been located and it was overnight shipped to us. THANK YOU! We were impressed with the sealed room and verified cleaning. Shout out to VA Beach FD who responded to an early morning alarm. It was a hike down 12 flights with the elevator closed, but grateful for all involved to ensure guest safety. We did not use valet, but were greeted each time we entered or departed. All staff are attentive, kind, and welcoming. The breakfast lounge has a nice selection. They open early, and you can't beat the view. We highly recommend HGI VA BEACH and will continue to stay here on our annual visit to the area. …
Nice hotel, beautiful view of the ocean from our balcony, every room has an oceanfront view. We stayed in a double queen bed room. The room itself was clean, but the bedspread had some stains. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. parking is across the street in a parking garage which isn't to bad, valet service is available but we didn't use. We would consider this place if we were in the area.
The room and view of the ocean was beautiful and clean! We stayed in a king suit it had 2 big flat screen TV and movies you could order in your room. The room had a nice couch and sitting area, coffee maker, microwave and fridge. The valet parking was nice it did cost $10 per day. I would have given 5 star rating but the breakfast buffet that cost $14.95 was awful! They had chopped up french fries as "home fries" nasty lumpy grits etc. I would stay again but skip the buffet. The restaurant attached to hotel " Lager Heads" was excellent! They specialize in gourmet burgers. Yummy!
