I booked the resort as a quick getaway to see if I'd be interested in becoming an owner. I previously attended a presentation in Williamsburg, VA & I didn't purchase at the time. During my stay, I woke up around 3 AM to use the bathroom & there was a roach crawling on my headboard near my pillows! I took pictures & immediately called downstairs. I wasn't able to go back to sleep & I sat up in a chair in the kitchen until the sun came up. A female security officer was sent up to the room & she walked in with her mask only covering her mouth, not her nose. I wasn't sure why she was sent, however, I showed her the pictures of the roach that I'd taken with my cell phone. I then looked up reviews online & learned that roaches are a common problem at the Oceanaire resort! YUCK! My suite was upgraded around 9:30 AM the next morning. No one ever called me back to say the room was ready. The interesting thing is that when I booked the room, a full oceanview category suite wasn't showing as being available, therefore, I'm uncertain how it suddenly became available for me to be switched to. Apparently, when I was switched, the Concierge Dept. never entered room the new room as being occupied because someone barged into my room on 3 separate occasions advising that the room wasn't showing as occupied-an engineer & 2 separate housekeepers! Thanks for the upgrade, but overall, this was a terrible experience. At least I have a clear picture now of why I shouldn't become an owner. …
This hotel was terrible. They advertise restaurants but the manager Christy said they didn’t have any? She also had a terrible attitude. Nick was a much nicer manager and the true VIP. She can go, honestly. You have to walk a block away in the cold to park and if you forget your parking key, either walk back or pay $10. THIS HOTEL REQUIRES A $300 INCIDENTAL DEPOSIT ON TOP OF THE ROOM FEE BEFORE YOU STAY. This is INSANE and I’ve never dealt with that. I saw a man who paid for his room be told that him and his two toddlers couldn’t stay there because he didn’t have a card to use with his name on it. They literally give you a packet of information (with nothing too valuable) and physical keys. I’m paying a $300 deposit for a resort room that doesn’t even have mobile keys? You don’t have mobile check in? You gave me a packet instead of a website with rules? Gross in this covid society. The fridge was FILTHY and the room is so loud, sounds like a plane taking off. One employee worked the desk the whole time and everyone’s check in took forever. Do not stay here bro. I promise, you’ll regret.…
We were excited about this trip and this hotel we booked as we booked an ocean view room . We arrived a little late for check-in. It took a while buy after we got in our room, we were surprised it was not an ocean view room. I went to the front desk she said they don't have ocean view rooms, but when I insisted and showed her the two types on bookin.com app, she said the rooms were sold out! Anyway ... good things first! The kitchen was well appointed, bathroom was clean with all the stuff in place. Everything was well maintained, the utensils, cutlery and crockery were neatly stacked. Things I didn't like... There was absolutely no hot water when we checked in and on the following day. We got hot water in the morning of our check out. The beds were horrible, the mattress just collapsed under us! Same with the sofa bed.…
So much idk where to start. Got the room for a night with my girlfriend from out of town. Chose this hotel because it said exceptionally clean and it looked like one of the nicest hotels on the oceanfront. Paid top dollar so I expected top quality. Got there everything seemed fine but the longer I stayed there it got worse. First, the tvs are so old that you can’t even use a fire stick. When u went to take a shower I turned the knob and it just broke off. I fixed it myself but after that there was no water pressure. Took forever to get the balcony door open because the lock was broken. The when I went to heat some food up in the microwave the was a old biscuit and coffee in there that had to be from at least a week or more ago. It had already started molding. At that point we started getting concerned about the cleanliness of the room. Being that covid is still around and clearly they were not taking care of the rooms, we decided to pack our things and go home after that. Didn’t even stay the night. Checked in at about 5pm and was checking out by 11pm. Total waste of time and money. And of course no refund. Spoke to the person at the desk on the way out and he said there’s nothing he can do. Told us we would have to call in the morning. Which I did and got an answering machine and no returned call. Never again…
Is it the best? No. The rooms are basic. However, you get great service from most staff, and the common areas are good. Lex assisted us during check-in, and she was superb...we could tell she was smiling behind her "COVID-19 mask", she was professional, and she answered all our questions in a friendly manner. Kudos to her for giving us a great first impression of this hotel. The concierge staff and the employee in the lobby checking for hotel cards did not have employee tags and they were not wearing masks though. In fact, when one of them asked if I had a hotel card, I continued to walk, ignoring him, thinking he was a random person from the streets, not realizing he was a staff member. The rooms were clean and spacious. The pillows are extremely uncomfortable (I had to take pills to kill my neck pain). The bathroom was very clean. I would also suggest having water in the vending machines, and not just sodas. All and all, we were content with our stay.…
