These rooms for the Moxy are larger than the Miami site, the location is literally on the water with a pool and a lobby slide that goes from the gym/foosball location upstairs down to the bar. There's lockers on site which is great for when you checkout but still want to make use of the day at the beach and their bartender, Joli, is absolutely a gem. She made my son a drink (he's 11) that he loves more than sprite, and she can make essentially any drink with enthusiasm. The restaurant allows local food trucks to sell on some days so there's a ton of local options to eat and the views/balcony for the beach side are gorgeous. This is my favorite hotel but competes with the New York Moxy site.

For My Wife and I who are both seniors, our five nights were enjoyable and refreshing. We stayed in an extra-large king room with wrap around balcony.
The room was spacious enough for us and the bed was comfortable, I'm not sure why they designed the room with the sink in the bedroom area, but we got used to it.
The property is only a couple months old so the facility itself is basically brand new. Hopefully the maintenance and cleaning crew can keep the property in its current condition.

The staff was excellent and accommodating and I thank them for that.
The valet parking at 11 dollars a night was well worth it and easy to work with.

Free morning coffee was the best and eating at the attached belveder restaurant was very good, but I would have liked to see a waiting list on busy mornings instead of having to stand at the door to keep your place in line.

I stayed at this hotel with my teenage daughter and her friend for a wrestling tournament. The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. When we first arrived, Ahnesti checked us in. She was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. The check-in desk is at the bar where you’re welcomed with a chip that you can turn in for a cocktail. The lobby is fun with a lot of seating area. They have couches for relaxing and table seating if you’re grabbing a bite. They also have a lot of games to play while hanging out in the lobby. The slide is a plus and way faster than it looks. The room is a little on the small side but it does say it in the description, they want you out and about. If you’re looking for a hotel for work where you need a table or desk, this is not the place for you. They have a lot of hooks to hang things but for a room with 2 queen beds, they only had one drawer to hold clothes, and we were there for 4 nights. But we made do, it was the least of our worries. The room doesn’t have a fridge or microwave. They do have a microwave in the lobby available for use plus they have a long table where you can enjoy your food. The AC unit was a little loud but we were able to sleep through it. The hotel opened in June, so they still have a few kinks. But honestly we had a wonderful stay and the girls loved it. One thing that I thought was great, was the stash closet. They had everything you need without having to call down to the lobby. There, you could find extra towels, tooth paste, razors and shaving cream, deodorant, makeup remover wipes and much more. I thought that was so convenient. The gym was clean and had a lot for the size. They had a boxing bag, wall balls, kettlebells, squat rack and much more. There are two computers for use if you need to check emails or use the internet. There is also a rec room where there are tables and a tv where you can just hang out. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked that they offered a small 50’s style diner that m has breakfast and lunch. Their bar has a daily happy hour with very reasonably priced drinks and $2 domestic beers. The lobby and outdoor pool is very welcoming.
What I didn’t like is that the our room reminded me of a small college dorm room that appears to be furnished by IKEA. The room doesn’t include a mini fridge or microwave oven. The sink for washing your hands or brushing your teeth is located in the same room that you sleep in.
Overall you can get a nicer room in Va Beach for approximately the same amount of money

We made a last minute trip to the area to check out the USS Wisconsin Winterfest as well as the boardwalk Christmas lights. After some research, I chose Moxy because it was a new hotel and the parking fee wasn't as outrageous as other major hotels. The Moxy came across as trendy/gimicky. My husband and I obviously not their intended demographic. As advertised, they do not have a traditional lobby. Check in is done at the bar. We arrived around 9:30 p.m., and there was a DJ. I booked a King size room, but they wanted to "upgrade" me to an Oceanfront Queen size room. The staff member and I had to yell at each other so we could hear above the noise of the bar. I had seen the configuration of the queen size room before booking and it was not suitable for my husband and me since the beds are against a wall. She had to move some reservations, but we got a king size room, and she gave us 2 tickets for free drinks at the bar. The room was clean, bed/bedlinens very comfortable, quiet and had very nice shower. The seating in the room was a beach chair rocker and a rope hammock. Large TV with streaming capability. No fridge or microwave in the room. There is no counter/desk, but a small drop down counter next to one side of the bed. The other side of the bed had a tiny table. It was off season, but there is a small pool area. Parking was confusing. There is a lot across the street, which is where we parked. We didn't find out until the second night that Valet parking was "required" because a new sign was posted in the parking lot. I spoke with staff and told them we had been self parking since arriving the day before, she got frustrated and said, for future reference, it is Valet only. When I got our bill before checkout, there was a charge from the restaurant, which we did not utilize. When I checked out I brought it up to staff. She asked if we had eaten in the restaurant and I said no. She said she didn't know how that could of happened and deleted the charge.

First and foremost, I wanted to say thank you for your business as it was our pleasure to serve you and we thank you for your loyalty as a Titanium member. But most importantly, I want to truly apologize for failing to meet your expectations with the guest service experience. Here at the Moxy VB Oceanfront, we strive to earn those 5-star ratings, and anything less is a coaching moment for the staff and myself. I too would be confused about if I didn't see the valet only signs and had a restaurant charge I didn't recognize. I appreciate the honest feedback and I will definitely share it at our next pre-shift meeting as it will only help strengthen our operations. My intention is for you to give us another chance whenever traveling back into this area so that we may "WOW" you with the guest service experience you truly deserve.

We had a delayed family Christmas in Virginia Beach as our niece was on shore leave for training and while she, her mother, her sister and her toddler, and their dog stayed at an Airbnb just about a mile away, we stayed at the Moxy. They were one of few hotels chosen because they accept dogs, who are very nearly treated like royalty. The front desk check-in is at the bar, so you get one token per adult for use on their Moxy Low Ball (vodka or gin, seltzer, and some other flavor), a beer, or a glass of wine, with decent selections of the latter two. The pool was closed as it is outdoors, and our room was ocean front with a balcony for fresh ocean breezes, with nice LPV floors, spacious bathroom, and a king bed, but the sink was outside the bathroom, the sink water pressure was very low (as attested to by our son and his fiancé 5 rooms down the hall), and there are very few rooms with microwaves (although there are two in the lobby), or refrigerators. There were bike and walking trails right outside next to the beach, an intimate in-house diner ($11 for an omelette, hash browns, and a choice of toast or English muffins, about the same for a cup of sausage gravy with 4 biscuits, and $3 for orange juice). We enjoyed additional drinks at the bar in the evening with our immediate family, and we met several valets who are a feature since all parking is valet only, with parking done across the street. Be respectful and tip accordingly! Overall a good experience for which we determined we will come back should the need or desire arises.

Isn't it great when you walk into a place and employees seem to actually like their job. That's the feeling we got when we entered the Moxy Hotel in Virginia Beach. You immediately feel like you're on vacation with the cool vibes of the hotel lobby. How many places check you in at the bar and offer a free drink? The rooms, are they for everybody, maybe not, but they are so innovative with the set up and offer everything you'll need for your stay. But who can argue with comfortable beds, beautiful views and spanking clean? A special shout out to the manager who always had time to talk, and to Justin and Jeremy at the valet station. Always big smiles! Honestly all the employees deserve a shout out but can't remember everyone's name. Sorry.
Again maybe not for you but we sure liked it!

Yes the hotel is new. Yes it is hip and cool. Worth the high prices on the rooms? I think not. We have stayed at both the Hilton Garden Inn and the Hyatt on the oceanfront. All three charge over $400 a night for an oceanfront room. However the Moxy rooms feel and look more like a sparsely furnished dorm room. We encountered a room that would fit in better on a college campus not on the oceanfront of Virginia Beach. In addition, it felt as if they rushed to open. There was a light that wasn’t even plugged in, the room phone didn’t work, the toilet stopped working within our first day. In their defense the toilet was fixed quickly but they didn’t fix the room phone so any questions we had needed to be asked in person whenever we passed by the front desk. Overall the Moxy is a nice place to stay but for what they charge per night we would rather stay at the Hyatt where they at least include a free breakfast for the premium priced room.

First and foremost, it was our pleasure to serve you and I am so grateful for your honest feedback. The Moxy brand is new to Marriott (Currently 2 Moxy's in the state of VA, and 31 sprinkled across the nation) and the biggest opportunity we have is managing expectations of this new hotel regarding what we offer and don't as a brand. I am sorry to have failed your expectations regarding the room furnishings. The Moxy Brand is inspired by European hostels and is known for its cozy, intimate minimal guestrooms and vibrant communal spaces, where the intent is for the guest to throw their belongings in the room and enjoy the vibe of the lobby with other guests while exploring the local surroundings. Here at the Moxy VB, we strive to earn those 5-star reviews, and anything less is a coaching moment for the team and me. I will share your feedback from your review as it will only strengthen our operations. Please give us another opportunity to "WOW" you with the guest experience you truly deserve if traveling to our area again. Wishing you the best for the rest of summer.

My husband and I took our kids here for a Christmas staycation for 1 night before the holidays to get some family time in. We booked the 4 queen bunk bed room.
Immediately upon entering the hotel, my kids kicked off their shoes and were racing down the slide! The attendant at the check in/bar couldn't have been more attentive- immediately welcoming us in, offering my welcome points, thanking us for our loyalty with Marriott and booking a late check out for us to extend our time together. My husband and I got 2 free drink tickets for the bar and the kids got bags of goldfish and candy canes!
Our room was so fun and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the kids loved sleeping in their own beds on the top bunk with their own little lamps near the bedsides. The shower was plenty spacious for a small, modern room and we had plenty of amenities. Though the rooms do not have a refrigerator or microwave, we brought a cooler with drinks and our own snacks. The balcony had plenty of room for morning coffee while looking over the pier and the ocean.
We ended up most of the night downstairs enjoying the music, drinks and the pop up restaurant with Kung food kitchen. The Chef was incredible and the food was ample and delicious! Do not miss out if they are there during your stay! He even brought out churros for the kids before we closed out our tab.

The kids had plenty to do between corn hole outside, table Jenga, foosball and that Slide (yes- adults can go down and it is just as fun!)

We plan on coming back for a mini staycation over new years eve weekend and my kids couldn't be more excited for another great time at this hotel!

What an amazing stay! We came here with our two dogs and found out it just opened 2 days prior, and it felt clean with a great atmosphere.

Amadi was awesome at checking us in.

The location is prime, views for four of July were amazing, and staff was friendly and nice. We stayed in the oceanfront suite on the 7th floor and had a personal hammock, king bed, tiki bar, and large wrap around balcony overlooking the pier and the water.

Gym was spacious with brand new work out equipment.

Would 100 percent stay again, knowing it will get better as they figure out some opening weekend flow. Overall we enjoyed our 3 night stay. They even gave us late 4pm check out with my platinum status
