Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We had a 2 bdrm suite with 1 bathroom. The 1st bedroom is looking at the ocean and has the ocean front balcony. The 2nd bedroom is behind the bathroom. The rooms and beds were comfortable and a nice size. There was a hall area with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and sink.
Due to the covid 19 restrictions the rooms could not be entered to be cleaned during our stay. When we called to the front desk to request extra towels, coffee and trash bags, someone was at the door with them within 5 minutes. All of the staff were wearing masks and we were also required to wear masks in common areas. The elevators were being sanitized regularly as well as the other common areas.
The typical breakfast was a grab and go. They had a place to form a socially distanced line in the mornings and a chalk board listing all of the options. You would tell one of them what you wanted and they packaged it in a to go container to take back to your room.
We had a great experience and would go back to this hotel again!

I should preface this review by saying that I'm a very fussy hotel-stayer. I have travel anxiety just for that reason. BUT this hotel met all my standards. FIRST....it's clean. Granted, I always do a good wipe down with my clorox wipes of high-touch surfaces when I walk into the room and then I maintain throughout the week, but on a daily basis, housekeeping would come in and vacuum and give us fresh towels. I don't care about the beds being changed everyday anyway (do we change our own beds daily at home?) There is a great continental breakfast in the morning included, I'm talking make your waffle and pancake station, fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, bagels, and then a hot station (and in my opinion this is really what makes the cost of the room worth it). And I would be remissed if I didn't mention Bonnie, who greets you as you walk into breakfast each morning, we were on a first name basis on the first morning we were here because she is so friendly. The ocean view from the room is gorgeous, we're steps away from the beach. And the shops are right out the front door. Oh and there's a fitness room with great equipment, I visited there after my walk on the beach every morning. Just a great place, we'll definitely come again without a doubt!

This property was a very pleasant surprise. It is one of the older hotels and features suites that face the ocean. What sets it apart in my mind is the customer service, cleanliness, price, free breakfast and free parking versus the newer hotels on the north end of the beach that overcharge for everything. The first night I was disappointed at the noise we heard from other rooms on the third floor. Yes, as an older hotel, the walls tend to be a bit thin. I happened to received an email from Travelocity asking me about my opinion of the check in process. I responded saying checking in was a breeze but I was a bit off put by the noise. The next morning, the hotel’s front desk lead, Christy, called. She apologized for the noise and asked if I would like another room. She found a corner unit on the third floor and offered to have someone help us move our belongings. Chuck arrived and, in short order, we were moved into a new room on the 7th floor! We did not experience any noise whatsoever after the move. The free breakfast was surprisingly good and featured scrambled eggs, bacon (most mornings), oatmeal, bagels, cereal, etc. A special mention to Bonnie who cleans the breakfast area on some mornings and works the front desk on others. She is a true gem who enthusiastically greets everyone, makes sure they are happy and is a bright light for morning breakfast eaters. So kudos to Christy, Chuck and Bonnie for making our stay at the Coastal Hotel & Suites a really positive one.

Loved it! Staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast had enough choices to satisfy everyone. Rooms were incredibly clean and housekeeping was excellent. I normally find something wrong when it comes to housekeeping but at this hotel the rooms were clean the beds made the toiletries restocked everyday. The breakfast staff was very friendly. You can't beat the location. Loved the double Queen room! It was the perfect accommodation for old friends spending the weekend together; we had enough space to enjoy our privacy when we wanted it and togetherness when we wanted it. I will definitely stay here again. Major perk was watching the dolphins swim across the ocean every day we were there morning and evening. On-site parking for one car was very convenient.

The staff here really went above and beyond! Breakfast was AWESOME and they ran around like crazy to take care of us. I was so happy with everything at this hotel. There are little things you will notice like all hotel room doors are in little alcoves so no one is screaming outside of your room. They spray down EVERYTHING after each use. What a fabulous vacation and they made it even better!

Overall, this hotel is decent and clean however, this years breakfast policy left a bad taste in my mouth. There are signs posted all over the hotel that breakfast is now dine in only. I thought that this was odd so i asked the breakfast hostess. She proceeded to tell me that last year was takeout only because of COVID. (As she stands there in her mask and i'm standing there in my mask) Obviously COVID is still present and i'm certain that their tables are not spaced 6 feet apart for safe guest dining but If that's the policy, then that's the policy. My issue with this policy started when I saw a guest with takeout breakfast headed to their room the next day. I went to clarify with the hostess to make sure that I was not confused on what she previously told me the day before. She proceeds to explain to me why that guest was allowed to take breakfast back to their room. What I gathered from the explanation was that certain guest are allowed takeout breakfast when they provide a sob story to the hostess. If you have a policy in place it should be followed by all individuals, not some individuals.

Awesome! From check in to check out, this was a WONDERFUL experience. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The staff went ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure we had a wonderful stay. Christie created a wonderful “Happy 50th Birthday” sign and gifted us a sparkling nonalcoholic beverage and champagne cups to assist with an impromptu 50th birthday celebration! On our last day, and the day of our check out, the staff gave us a special access card so we could remain at the beach for the remainder of the day utilizing their parking garage and their bathroom facilities. We found this to be an exceptional and very much appreciated bonus! Most hotels want you gone immediately after check out. But this establishment was more concerned about us having a pleasant experience. I would highly recommend them. I cannot wait to visit again. They served a wonderful complimentary breakfast, both on the weekends and during the weekdays as well. Special thanks to Christie, Chuck and the front desk team for making this an unforgettable and wonderful experience! They even walk the entire parking garage on scheduled rotations to ensure all is well, while guests simply enjoy the stay! We look forward to our next stay.

Every time I come to Virginia Beach, this is my hotel of choice. The location is absolutely perfect. It’s at the midpoint of the boardwalk and convenient to the Norfolk-Virginia Beach Expressway. All suites are oceanfront with stunning views of the beach and boardwalk. Every time I stay here, the staff is warm, friendly, and welcoming. The hotel is well-kept and clean. Currently housekeeping is suspended during the stay because of COVID-19, but if toiletries, towels, etc are needed, they will happily bring it to you with a smile. The breakfast is more limited because of COVID protocol but the biscuits are amazing. This hotel has never let me down. I’ll continue to recommend Comfort Inn & Suites Virginia Beach Oceanfront. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

I came back to the Oceanfront to visit my sister and as a local returning home, they did everything right to ensure the best experience when visiting the beach. The pool was large with enough room for multiple families to visit at once and the hot tub was extremely relaxing after a long day. Breakfast is served complimentary each morning in their charming breakfast area. The rooms are very large with a sleeping area and separate living space. The balconies are spacious enough for two chairs and a small table and- best part- the balconies overlook the beach. Everyone that I interacted with was extremely friendly and professional and they all seemed ready to help when needed. The hotel is right on the Oceanfront with multiple shops and restaurants being open until rather late in the evening. This location even has a coin based laundry room for those staying for a longer trip. The hotel has beach access right from their back door (they even have an area to rinse off the sand before reentering the hotel.). Anyone looking for their next vacation spot in Virginia Beach can stop the search here. I would highly recommend!!

· It’s funny how the hotel is really responsive before you check in, I guess so you’ll keep your reservation. But once we checked in, we did not receive a response via messenger on Booking like we had prior to checking in. Nor did we receive a response to our emails. We asked that the hotel ask their staff to wear masks. We had someone come to one of our room to assist us with a broken fridge and they weren’t wearing a mask and we saw three other staff who weren’t wearing masks. The maintenance person had a REALLY bad attitude also. He tried to tell us that it would take overnight for a fridge to cool down sodas, we had been there for 3 hours already. Then he complained I guess to his manager about us because a manager called my sisters room and was very nasty. This was AFTER we asked the maintenance person To change our fridge in our room. We’re not sure what the maintenance person thought we were using but my dad has a couple different oxygen machines, cpap, etc., But apparently the manager was told we were using weed? Now we def smelled weed, cigars and cigarettes from our balcony from other guests but it wasn’t us. I’m not sure why the maintenance person thought it was ok to basically tell on our family just because he was frustrated he had to change the fridge. After he showed up twice to their room without wearing a mask. This is unacceptable. The attitude of both of your staff is completely unacceptable. We also asked About adding an extra night to our stay and we were told no only after they learned which room it was. Lastly, when we checked in there was a sausage and potatoes on the floor, clearly it was not cleaned before we checked in. We took pictures immediately upon checking in. To add, our AC was shut off for over three hours today and when we called the front desk, they indicated to us that “there was maintenance being done. Why weren’t the guests informed of this on a 80 degree day? We NEVER received a response.
