I didn't have the pleasure of staying at Oak Grove plantation, but my wife and I recently had to attend a funeral and drove our Tesla Model X. We didn't have enough charge to get to South Hill, and Oak Grove was kind enough to let us charge and invited us in for drinks. They are the only location within...

Really enjoyed our short stay in July 2016. Made to feel very welcome by the kind hosts. Rooms are excellent. Porch is a great place to sit. Breakfast and the pre-arranged dinner were superb. The history of the house and the family is fascinating and very well told by Pickett! Find time for a glorious walk on the estate's pathways....

We stayed at Oak Grove Plantation two nights. It was comfortable, clean, quiet and relaxing. Pickett and Mike were welcoming, recommended wonderful local restaurants, fed us healthy but delicious breakfasts and overall were great hosts. We loved the historical aspect of the B&B and enjoyed the tour Pickett gave us. We appreciated their efforts to be a "green" facility. It...

Picket was a wonderful host at this historical and environmentally friendly (fitted with solar panels) B&B! My boyfriend and I enjoyed a very relaxing weekend getaway here in the room with a private bath and outside access off the living room. We had a nice picnic on the front lawn, Picket’s delicious lemon-souffle pancakes for breakfast, a trip to a...

I like to visit this estate while traveling through Virginia. The house is majestic and historic. The lodging rooms are clean, spacious and historically decorated. I really like to walk along the extensive, wooded, on-premises trail. I'm always taking lots of interesting and bucolic photos, while walking the path. The hosts are pleasant and helpful; and the breakfast was so...

Met a friend who had moved south at Oak Grove Plantation (half way between us) with our pups in order to spend a weekend catching up. It was incredibly beautiful and peaceful. Our dogs enjoyed romping through the trails on the property and we enjoyed just sitting in the sun with good books, good wine, and good company. Breakfast was...

We stayed at Oak Grove Plantation south of South Boston, Va, a late 1700’s house at Cluster Springs, near the sight of a boarding school and spa at one time. Huge rooms with great woodwork, unique family furnishings and nice views from every window. Dark enough to see as many stars as southern Utah, little light pollution. We shared a...

My wife and I have been passing through the small town of South Boston, VA for years, but never thought of it as more than a collection of gas stations and fast food franchises. Recently we decided to stay at the Oak Grove Plantation B&B. What a treat! The house dates from ~1820, and has been in the same family...

Early morning we would join Pickett and her pups for a morning hike before sitting down to a scrumptious breakfast with Her. She is a font of information on what to do and where to go in the area. We explored the nature trails on the property with our Samoyed. The office with its separate entrance was perfect for late...

We enjoyed a night at this lovely plantation home on our way to a wedding in South Carolina. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we stopped and stayed on our way home too. Pickett was a wonderful host serving us a delicious breakfast and recommending restaurants in South Boston for dinner. Her home is historic, beautiful and very...
