This suite hotel was reasonably priced. However, the tv remotes did not work, the quest replacement area, for soap, shampoo, dishwasher soap, etc.,was empty. The housekeeping staff had their masks around the necks. The carpets were very dirty with mystery stains on the couch. The kitchen was clean with some dishes.
I have been helping my brother & his wife relocate from KissimmeeFL to FloydVA siting the past week. We still have more household items to transport from storage in RollaMO, so My brother & I are flying from ROA to STL early tomorrow. To comfortably make the flight, we are overnighting in the amazingly nice Mainstay Suites. Even better, receptionist AMANDA professionally checked us in & gave a wealth of info. Her superior disposition made it easy for us to enter and easily become familiar with all the options. AMANDA has demonstrated what every employer wants: intelligent/knowledgeable staff who effectively promote the business and treats all customers with care & respect. Her devotion to duty inspires all who meet her, and I’ve little doubt that She will soon become one of the top leaders in this business of hospitality! She certainly has my coveted “iWheel of Approval!”…
Front desk clerk would not provide the usual medical staff discount. Said I needed to speak to a sales manager for that. No other front desk clerk has ever said such. I stay at the hotel frequently and have never had this issue. Moved to 3 rooms after working a double shift. Bathrooms not clean, counters and showers dirty, bed spreads dirty, sheets with hair in them and spots all over them, hot and humid room while ac constantly running, toilet constantly flushing and running by itself, no staff, phone not working in the 3rd room to notify front desk about anything. $175 for this stay makes no sense with all of this going on. No accommodations, discounts, refunds or offers made. Hotel needs upgrades and a serious cleaning. Staff should be trained to handle issues instead of directing customers to sales manager especially when there is nothing to purchase. Attitude at the front desk matters. Friendly but indifferent front desk staff. Attitude matters.…
Friendly but indifferent front desk staff. Hotel could use a major remodel. Room was spacious with plenty of options for long term stay. Room was lacking basic toiletries like shampoo. Smoking are right outside the room and the through-the-wall HVAC unit managed to pull cigarette smoke into room. No breakfast. Luckily found a Waffle House not far away.
We had plans to attend a concert nearby on the night of our stay and then attend an event at the Berglund Center the next day. We live an hour away so instead of driving back home and then up again we decided to spend the night in Roanoke. After researching hotels in the area, I booked an overnight stay several weeks in advance for my family of 4 without issue. When we arrived, our home address was used to determine how far away we lived from the hotel. The estimation came up to 47.8 miles. We were informed that the hotel doesn't allow reservations within a 50 mile radius. We were turned away. As we left with our youngest in tears who had been so excited for our stay and luggage in-tow, another employee of the hotel followed us out to recommend another hotel close by that didn't share their policy. That particular hotel was nearly double the rate. He continued to apologize and stated that they've had too many locals stay and wreck the rooms and that was the reason for their policy. I personally wouldn't label living an hour away a "local" but to each their own. With the concert beginning in an hour, we were left to figure it out and we were glad to spend our money elsewhere--at a hotel even closer to our events for a rate cheaper than Mainstays.…
Amanda at the front desk was wonderful and very accommodating. We got a smoking and pet room by mistake so we were disappointed . The hotel was full so she adjusted our room rate. Amanda requested for Housekeeping to put a machine in our room and it neutralized the odor and it was so refreshing, smoke odor totally gone. Very clean room and well stocked. Needed a larger frying pan and salt, they got what we needed and were so courteous and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.
Amanda at the front desk was super helpful and kind when we had an issue with parking. Overall a nice clean Hotel with awesome rooms for an extended stay. I would highly recommend this location to others.
Stayed with 4 other friends in a standard 2 queen suite with sofa bed. Enough room for us all, and we had one of the rooms that had been updated. Decor downstairs was homey, breakfast was good, staff was friendly, and views were great. Would recommend.
Stayed here because offers 2 bedroom suites with living room and decent kitchen. Kitchen stocked for basic cooking with plates, cups, glasses. also could get from hotel crock pot, blender and other cooking utensils which I thought is a great idea. Room was nice but wish one bed was a king. Also decor needs updating through out the hotel but they are in process of remodeling. Front desk check in and out easy and staff very pleasant. Breakfast was good enough, nothing elaborate but will mention the gentleman who was maintaining it on 2/17 was constantly checking things, cleaning, etc.Was impressed. Also there is no noise from airport so that is a plus. There is some road noise faces the main road but not all night. Good location with several restaurants nearby and easy to get.to, once you figure it out first time.…
The rooms need to be updated and some work needs to be done on flooring but it was clean and had large rooms. One of our non smoking rooms smelled very bad with smoke but they quickly put us in another room. Service was very good. The business computer needs to be trashed and replaced with one that works.
