We go a little out of our way to stay at this hotel when traveling. The hotel is clean and the staff is amazing! A big shout out to Brian in the Restaurant and Victoria that checked us in and out the next day. Brian always remembers us no matter how much time has passed. He is so friendly and accommodating. Makes the end of that long trip so relaxing. And the food is fantastic. Victoria was very accommodating, finding us the perfect room since my husband has difficulty walking. I cannot say enough about this place!
My wife and I had booked a stay for Sunday 11/21 and Monday 11/22. We arrived to find the facility wasn't very clean, dirty and garbage in a number of areas. The room itself was reasonably clean, except for in the bathroom it appeared that someone had spilled a liquid on the wall next to the shower and it hadn't been fully cleaned. The room was in the fourth floor, with the window above the lobby. Sunday's stay was ok, reasonably uneventful. Monday, we had been out in Roanoke and returned to the room about 5 P.M. There was very loud construction noise, drilling, hammering in close proximity to our room. We ignored the noise for about 45 minutes and then contacted the front desk. The person who answered the phone said that there had been three other complaints and security was going up to advise them to stop. The noise continued for an additional 45 minutes. During our entire stay, there were a number of children present in the lobby. By the appearance, they were children of a hotel employee. There was also a dog present on Monday afternoon/evening. The children made a great deal of noise, screaming, hollering and crying. This was happening up until right at 11 P.M. Tuesday morning at 7 A.M. the construction noise began again. Hammering, drilling and cutting of metal. This noise woke my wife and I up, and prevented us from sleeping. We gathered our things and went to check out. My wife spoke to who we believe was the person in charge to reiterate our problem with the noise. The woman that she spoke to initially lied and said that she wasn't aware that there was construction noise happening. In the next breath, she said that the were converting part of the hotel into an extended stay facility, she apologized, not seeming very sincere. We were not notified upon booking the room that there was construction happening, there were not any notices posted in the lobby and nothing was mentioned by the clerk at check in that there could be construction noise. A complete waste of money! We contacted the hotel and Holiday Inn Corporate with zero satisfaction. Stay away!…
As a long term reward member I don’t normally give a negative review but Saturday nights stay was a disaster! The Notre Dame football team stayed here prior to their Virginia Game. They didn’t check out till 3PM. After a six and a half hour drive from Georgia I arrived with my wife and son with his family. We arrived at 5:30PM and were told that the two rooms we booked were not ready because they only had nine housekeepers. We were number six on the list for available rooms! We said we would go to dinner and come back. At 9:00PM only one room was available and my wife and I had to wait till 9:30PM to get into our room. Barbara at the front desk was wonderful but couldn’t offer us any compensation for our wait. I think we should have been given some type of compensation for our wait. After waiting over four hours for a room we should have been given a free breakfast instead of having to pay $24. On the positive side the staff was wonderful and the room was clean! I will never stay here during football season again!…
I read all the negative reviews, my take is this was a nice place to stay. Room was large and clean, tv refrigerator, microwave coffeemaker and iron. Beds were very comfortable. Hotel from desk person Victoria was Pleasant and accommodating and always had a smile. I would definitely return.
We stayed here last year and it was awesome so we booked a room without hesitation this year, BIG mistake. If it had not been so late when we arrived we would not have stayed here. No toilet paper in the bathroom. The bathroom floor is sticky and has trash on it. There are no towels or wash clothes in the room. We went down to the front desk twice, once for toilet paper and the second time for towels. The man working the desk told us he would bring some towels when he was finished with the guest checking in behind us! He never brought them when we went back to get towels, he told us he did not have a key to get towels and handed us a bunch of hand towels and one washcloth. He told us that they thought someone was stealing towels! The bathroom mirror was dirty. The sheets on the bed are stained. No trash can is in the bathroom. This place is awful. Stay anywhere else but here. Do not water your money. I am so upset about this that I can not even sleep. Holiday Inn you may have lost a customer after this visit and the one last year to Ocean City, MD. TRASH HOLE…
My family was in town for a few days to visit local colleges/universities. Hotel was wonderful. Perfect location. Easy to access the numerous surrounding colleges. Price was exceptional for such a nice hotel. The front desk were courteous and professional. The room was huge! Plenty of space to spread out and not feel confined that so many other hotels. My daughter loved the huge TV! I was able to get a workout in and relax by the pool. Both had a feeling like I was at a resort. The fitness room was one of the better equipped rooms I have seen in a hotel. The best thing about this hotel that is has it's own restaurant and bar. Something most hotels no longer have. It was perfect to not have to leave the hotel to get a bite to eat or to enjoy some adult beverages. Our last day, I requested to stay a bit longer in the am and the front desk was very accommodating. Would definitely suggest this to any families who may be visiting the area!…
This is our second time we have stayed here. This stay was amazing from the time we checked in to checking out the next day. Check in: Jaime was amazing, so accommodating, friendly and professional! Restaurant/Bar: Barry made our trip! So upbeat, accommodating and funny. The food was great and it was so relaxing after a long trip. Check out: It was easy and fast. Room: The room was clean and comfortable. We will definitely be coming back.
Full service means you have to pay for breakfast. However, the restaurant serves a decent dinner, great after a long trip with no other restaurants nearby. No tub, just a shower. Indoor pool but no jacuzzi. Comfortable beds, quiet, clean room.
We travel from Maine to Florida every year and this hotel will be on my must stay list. Everyone that we were in contact with could not have been nicer. The rooms were very modern, with big nice bathrooms, and micro waves, and refrigerators. After driving all day, we ate in their restaurant / pub and both meals were excellent. I had the rib eye for $22.00 and it great and my wife had a chicken dish that was very tasty. It also had pretty easy access to 81. I stay again this Fall.
Very pleased with our stay at this hotel, Very clean, modern updates. The restaurant was delicious and our kids were so happy the pool was available. We'll absolutely choose this location again when in the area.
