My wife and I recently stayed at Mountain Lake Lodge. After having prepaid for one of the two hotel parlor suites SIX months in advance, we arrived after a four hour rainy drive to be placed in a lesser room. This was done, unknown to us until check in, to accommodate a wedding party. Our date night package went from...

Paul, Thank you for making our staff aware of the error with your reservation during your recent stay. We sincerely are disappointed that despite our best efforts to make it right during your stay - we were not able to make your stay enjoyable. I know that many of our managers have personally apologized to you and I apologize to...

We stayed at the Mountain Lake Lodge in August and paid around $475/night with meals included. But, the cabin rooms needed updating and they were just okay, maybe about $200/night with meals (buffet). If you are a serious Dirty Dancing fan, Mountain Lake is where you want to go, but we weren't thrilled with it.

Very nice hotel up in the mountains. I mean "in the mountains." The "cabins" were just like being at home with all of the amenities. They actually were better equipted than the main lodge. Just bring your own food if staying in the cabins. Excellent hiking trails and views. It is somewhat rustic, but it is in the mountains. Planning...

If I could, I would rate Mountain Lake higher. The staff (Glenn, Amy, Katie, Matt & more) were great, very professional and personable. The people who took care of organizing my daughter's wedding were very thorough and again, professional and personable. We stayed in one of the houses in Blueberry Ridge (Narrows) and loved it. The nights were cool to...

After a week in DC with three boys in tow. This place was the perfect escape. Nestled in a beautiful trail-rich, woodsy paradise, the cabins are comfortable and nice. Gorgeous hikes, endless fun activities, friendly staff, and lots to do. Pools, hot tub, lawn chess, live music, gourmet food! It was all good. It stands in my mind as one...

We recently celebrated our anniversary with a weekend get away at Mountain Lake Lodge. We've patronized this resort off an on over the years. The lake is still down, but we never swam in the lake anyway. The trails are better than ever. The food is truly excellent. Every meal was delicious. Favorites were the comfort food brisket, the shrimp...

A dear friend chose this lovely spot to get married which is why we happened to venture to Mountain Lake Lodge for our first time. The curvy, steep and oh-so-scenic ride up the mountain fed my anticipation for what we might find at the top! I was not disappointed. The scene before me as we arrived was oddly familiar. I...

I absolutely love Mountain Lake Lodge. It is nestled in the mountains and is the perfect place to "unplug." Lyndsi helped coordinate our wedding and she was great. Our wedding was supposed to be on top of the mountain, when the weather turned out poor, Lyndsi really made the change in location possible. We had our ceremony on the veranda...

I attended a meeting and stayed here for 3 nights. I stayed in the main lodge. Granted, it is an old place, but it has not been kept up. No elevator that I could find, and a good walk uphill from the parking lot. The heat had 2 settings, off and blazing. No TVs in the room, only in the...

Fourester, Thank you for your candid feedback. You are correct that Mountain Lake Lodge will never be the Greenbrier or the Homestead. We are a rustic, historic lodge on 2600 acres of hiking, biking, birding, and outdoor adventure. Most folks visit us to "unplug" and enjoy all of the natural beauty of this SW Virginia treasure. If you are to...

Mountain Lake is well past its prime, maybe to the point of death. My organization chose this place to hold a meeting. The meeting facility was fine. We were well attended. However, everything else was poor. The rooms have no a/c, tv, microwave, or fridge. Housekeeping is a joke. Beds were left unmade, no towels, trash left from the previous...
