My wife and I just stayed 4 nights with Jeanne and John at the Inn at Riverbend, Room Palisades. Our room was on the entry floor far corner facing the river gorge. Wonderful setting, very quiet though you can hear the distant train whistles, if...More

A delightful bed & breakfast which could almost fall into the category of micro hotel. Comfortable rooms overlooking the river, the views are delightful. Informative and friendly owners help to make you feel welcome with complimentary tea and coffee in the lounge/dining room, soft drinks...More

This Inn attracted us first of all for its spectacular location, in the mountains overlooking the New River, in the area of Blacksburg, Virginia. Also, it is part of the Select Registry network, which we have always found to have inns of the first quality....More

We are sorry to hear you were disappointed in our breakfast offerings. We try very hard to please most pallets and apparently did not meet your expectations. Our recipe for Orange Cardamom Syrup (from another Select Registry inn) usually gets rave reviews as it is...More

For our anniversary getaways, we always look for a private balcony with a beautiful view. Our Palisades room at the Inn at Riverbend was all that and more! The inn overlooks a winding river with the breathtaking Palisades landforms as a backdrop. The inn itself...More

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay to celebrate your anniversary. Sorry breakfast seems early, but so many couples are hungry and eager to be out on the trails or the river. Just to clarify, the balcony is not technically "private", just set back...More

Had a great stay. Staff was friendly. Room was comfortable and the views are fantastic. Would definitely stay here again. Great place to relax and get away from home/work. Enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching the sun set.

From sunrise to sunset, the views from the deck (or your room) can be quite spectacular and change from season to season. We are so glad you enjoyed not only the views, but your relaxing getaway. John and Jeanne, Innkeepers

Hello previous Inn at Riverband guest! My husband and I are looking a relaxing but active get away in the nature at the end of March. Hopefully we will have some sunshine and no snow as we are in MOUNDS of it right now in Ohio! This Inn looks BEAUTIFUL my only concern is it's location and how much driving we may be doing to get up and GO hiking or biking or wine tours etc... Are you all able to share what your days were like when you wanted to go hiking or bike or to the wineries? Did it feel like it was hard or annoying to be driving everywhere or are the drives to those different actives pretty simple and easy? Also the breakfasts sound wonderful but whats about lunches and dinners? How was that for you when oyu stayed? Was it easy access to good places to eat (casual, dress up, bar hop kind of options?). Thats really my biggest concern is the driving. We are looking to relax and the place seems wonderful and we will probably have our days on the porch reading and napping but then day two would want to be active but not feel like we lived in the car for our get away- that is on top of our 5hour drive from Ohio to arrive. Any thoughts would be helpful!!! Thanks!

The Cascade Falls trail head is maybe 6 miles away and well worth it. Relatively easy hike of two miles in and two back out - slight loop to it. If the 4 miles needs to be extended you can go up to Barney's Wall from there... More
