We stayed in the Stables room. Very romantic. Furnished with olde world charm, large room with a fireplace. After our meal in the restaurant we sat in font of the open fire with a lovely glass of chilled yarra valley wine. Doesn't get much better. Bathroom is large with a large spa and the best shower. Quiet and peaceful setting...

Had a wedding to attend and was keen to try Eleanores restaurant. The room was spacious and comfortable. The mattress was fine. The cat that you leave outside the door not to disturb is quaint. Not that cheap but fine for a two night weekend stay.

Recently I was the very excited winner of a local shopping centre competition - a luxury ‘Lantern’ package (accommodation, dinner and breakfast) at the lovely Chateau Yering, only an hour’s scenic drive from the city. The hotel was built in the 1890’s by the De Castella family, and retains its old world charm and grace. I made a booking for...

We had lunch with friends here on a Saturday. It was a bit pricey, but it was fine dining after all. The dishes we had were very good and we enjoyed it and the expansive views as well. Service was good and friendly too.

Eleanor 's Restaurant at Chateau Yering is magnificent! We were treated to a four course tasting menu with a glass of bubbly which was amongst the best food ever. Seared scallops, followed by duck pie, then waygu beef & followed by chocolate panna cotta. All delicious and served by excellent staff, from Maître d to all waiting staff. Could not...

We had a weekend escape from the city, and this is the place to do it. Once you are in your room, the world disappears (other than the view) and its just quiet. No noise from neighbours, no passing traffic, just the peace of the valley to look over on the balcony. We stayed in a River view room. the...

We stayed just a single night in Aug in a Garden Room. This is a beautifully appointed 'Olde World' style hotel, all polished wood and heavy drapes. Our room was spacious with central round dining table, couch and easy chair. The smallish TV lives in a polished wood until that also houses fridge and glassware and being on the other...

I surprised my partner with a weekend in the Yarra Valley, culminating in an overnight stay at Chateau Yering. This is a most beautiful old building, filled with grand antique furniture and decorated in a luxurious, period style. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed as is the bathroom which includes a clawfoot bath. The staff were warm and...

I enjoyed my stay, my room was in the old stables, with a lovely fire place which we used each night on returning from seeing the valley wineries and galleries. I believe the hotel is too pricey and perhaps reducing room rates would benefit both the traveller and the hotel owners by more people coming to stay. Overall I enjoyed...
