My family has gone to Shrine Mont several times with our church. We always have a fun, special time. Although just outside of NOVA/DC area, you feel like you are very far away. The main house has Wifi now, but other than that, there are no T.V.s, and no cellphone reception, which is great. My main suggestion to the management...

3rd time staying at this mountain destination. It's an Episcopal Retreat destination but also open for travelers who are looking for a mountaintop get-away. Take a step back in time when you visit this place - clean, quiet and scenic. Rooms/cottages are nothing fancy and not a TV anywhere. Step away from the internet and enjoy the hiking trails, great...

Shrine Mont is located in Orkney Springs near Bryce Resort. You truly could not pick a more scenic, beautiful mountain setting. The retreat was built near the beginning of the 1900's and it is truly like stepping back in time. If you are looking for a nostalgic family getaway, you have found your place. There is nearby hiking, fishing, golf...

I didn't stay but attended the music festival on the grounds. The main hotel is like a religious camp or scout camp. Very basic but charming. Nice front porch. Free and fun for families. No booze. Minimal A/c .

Attended the Shenandoah valley Music Festival, which was actually one band playing from 8-10pm on Friday. They stopped at 10 because of "quiet hour". There was ice cream and one food vendor and one tshirt booth. BYOB. Outdoor stage and pavilion, sit in the grass or pay a bit more for a chair under the roof closer to the stage....

This is a very beautifyl place on the Va/WVA border. It is a retreat center owned by the Episcopal Church. The buildings are old but well preserved. They have the main hotel buildings and numerous cabins. I stayed in a cabin and the room is very simple. It has no air conditioning, but does have a fan you can place...

It use to be a 4 story log cabin, so it's amazing to tour. Their are cabins and rooms on the first floor o the hotel. Some of the cabins share bathrooms and...

My review is only for the Orkney Springs Hotel and related buildings. My first time here was in 1973. My High School Band came here every year for a week long marching band camp. I also was here for band camp in 1974 and 1975. In this millennium, I have been here in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and just this...

This is my 17th time coming to shrine mont with family friends. We rent miller cabin and the other houses for a week. We don't just stay on shrine mint property, we leave and go to other places such as horse back riding, kayaking in the Shenandoah river, lake Laura and Bryce mountain to go zip lining or tubing. When...

The staff here are so kind, the food is so good, and the sleep you get is priceless! I came for a conference last year and thought I would relive the horrors of summer camp as a child, but I found the quiet and simplicity such a good escape that I came back again. Yes, you can bring a radio...
