The property is very old and dated. Be careful which tower you reserve. There are condo timeshare villas and also an old section of hotel that they call villas and they’re only 3 old hotel rooms that have been connected. They only have a refrigerator and a microwave. No washer and dryer. No kitchen or oven. The worst part was that maintenance has been deferred. The shower head was broken in master. When they replaced it, it was spraying perpendicularly into wall. The conversion to handicap left a cheesy shower curtain that was too short and a sharp sliding door track on the floor. The mattress in the master was a very cheap, hard as a wood plank, 6 inch thick mattress. Totally unacceptable. It took 2days to get a mattress topper. It was so bad I had to take pain meds for my sore hips. The housekeeping also needed training. The housekeeper took the sheets from the fold out sofa and didn’t leave clean ones. I also witnessed the housekeeper clean the fresh water dispenser in the gym with the same dirty rag that he used on the floor and the foot pedals. I understand Covid has created some issues but we paid a premium price and it wasn’t a luxury property. Also be careful of your reservation. We basically got scammed by the VRBO owner. It was listed as a villa and was not. Also VRBO is not honoring its book with confidence guarantee.…
When searching be for a hotel on Maui, I was a bit apprehensive as the reviews that I found for this location weren’t great. I unfortunately resolved myself to assuming that I just wouldn’t have a good time. Let me tell you. Sometimes you have to take a chance and experience things for yourself. The property is beautiful with grade A views of the ocean. My room seems to be part of the vacation club and comes complete with a kitchenette. So loved it. There are three separate pools and hot tubs as well. Would definitely come again.
This was a great resort. We enjoyed our time here as we celebrated my wife’s birthday. Beautiful view of the grounds and ocean from our room. It was quiet and relaxing, check in was smooth although we had to wait 15 min or so to be helped since only one person was checking guests in. Apparently many of these units are timeshares which they rent out as hotel rooms when they are vacant. Only reason it didn’t receive 5 stars from us is because of the price. It was very expensive for one night, but most of that is due to the supply/demand situation in Maui post-Covid. So I don’t blame the hotel completely, but for what we paid it would have been nice of them to add a few extra touches here and there since they were aware we were visiting for a special occasion (a welcome gift, a small credit, a discount or voucher, etc would have been appreciated). Overall a very nice resort with pools for kids, restaurants and amenities if you are willing to pay $800+ a night.…
We are owners at Ko’Olina on Oahu but just returned from a one week stay at the Maui Vacation Club staying in the Lahaina or Napoli Towers and we loved it! The setting is beautiful, the property and grounds were immaculate and the hospitality extended by the staff was second to none. Kudos to Doug and the bell staff who set the tone on our arrival and departure in delivering and picking up our luggage promptly and storing it safely. We are walkers and we also loved the walk throughout the Kaanapali Resort and access to Whaler’s Village for shopping and restaurants. We think it’s a top notch resort in every respect and highly recommend it!
