Tamarindo was a great place to stay if you know what you are getting yourself into. It should be mentioned that a car or golf cart is a must have unless you have gone grocery shopping and stocked up on water ahead of time. I would still rent a car either way though as there are so many great beaches...

I asked the family if we should try something new for spring break, but was voted down, so for the seventh (!) time we returned to Tamarindo Estates to swim and snorkel. The reef by the beach is fantastic and we also walked over to see the turtles and the stingrays at the adjacent beach. We generally prepare food at...

Ok, so the cottage itself gets really hot in the afternoon, and the living room/kitchen very minimal BUT you can go down the path to the beach, which is accessible only to renters. The reef there is just a few yards offshore, and totally unspoiled. Never have I seen forests of fan coral and beautiful small fish of all colors....

This was a beautiful rental with it's own private beach area (with excellent snorkeling) There is also a beautiful pool and patio that is beach front, private, and was rarely in use by others while we were there. Tamarindo is a quiet, romantic or family oriented place to stay. The caretakers were very responsive, and the place is very clean....

The location, the views, the beauty of this spot cannot be underestimated. Yes, the bed was a little bit smaller than we are used to, and the decor a little bit outdated, but this doesn't matter when you wake up, go outside on to the veranda, and just drink in the solitude and tranquility of the place. Culebra is a...

After booking 5 days of diving/advanced dive instruction with Taz Hamrick @ Aquatic Adventures I booked cottage 302 at Tamarindo. After flying in, and a 10 minute taxi ride we checked in just in time for a magnificent sunset over the out islands. The kitchen half had adequate cooking utensils, while screened windows overlooking the patio/ ocean and a ceiling...

Way too expensive. Very small bed. Apts. 201-203, you have to climb 28 steps to your very small apartment. Overall, there are other places that are much nicer and of similar price. I do not recommend.

Just my kind of place--older with charm of days gone by. Small cottages with covered decks facing amazing views of Tamarindo beach and adjacent islands. In the distance you see the mountains of the Puerto Rico rain forest. To the west, the low profile of Vieques. Water pressure was low as Culebra relies on cisterns. Wonderful private reef for snorkeling.

Beds could be a bit softer not so bumpy! I did manage to sleep regardless. The views are breathtaking from this pearl part of the island! Service was homely sweet and kind! Cottages need upgrade on the 1970's furniture" lol but overall everything worked and was clean! It's totally worth the beaches bordering it and the hikes! Not a big...

My husband, sister, and brother in law and I spent three nights/four days in Culebra in late June 2012. We loved how it seemed like we had our own little piece of paradise to ourselves. Tamarindo was not fancy, no swim up bar, no maid service. What it did have was the most beautiful waters just below the hillside. If...
