This is a beautiful historical1888 house turned into a hotel. It is nicely preserved, keeping the old French Colonial feel to the place. The location is very good, near the center of town a short walk about a block to the water. Wifi is available. The rooms are spacious and come with fans and mosquito netting. My bed was very...

This place is now high on my list of my favorite places I've ever stayed in. I think our room was called the Depot, or the Garage, something like that? Huge room on the ground floor. Hot water in the shower, good wifi, and a mosquito net, the room was exactly what we needed. The bar area in the lobby...

When you come to Jacmel, you stay at the Hotel Florita! There are no other accommodations quite like it. If you want to truly soak in the culture of the city, there is no other hotel that will provide you with that je ne sais quoi. The hotel is filled with amazing Haitian art and the individuals you will meet...

Chill vibe galore at this former 1880's home converted into a small boutique hotel. Many great original architectural accents including iron stairs and fretwork, high ceilings, balconies, and meandering courtyards. Great collection of Haitian artwork. Fun to explore all the nooks and crannies. Good food and service as well.

I fell in love with the Hotel Florita's artistic aesthetic online, and liked the idea of its central location. Neither of these disappointed. The staff was absolutely lovely, and the restaurant was also quite good. The hotel's appearance up close though, was rather alarming and I was disappointed at its overall condition-- doorknobs were missing, as were some shower heads,...

As a solo traveler, I stayed at the Florita for a few nights in August 2016. Jacmel is a cute little town and the Florita centrally located just a couple of blocks from the beach walk. I had a room with a balcony facing the street. Bed was comfortable, room was simply furnished but clean and nice. Basic bathroom with...

We just came back from a few days in jacmel. We stayed at hotel Florita. The place looks like it should be on a movie set, it's really magical. The host was incredibly accommodating and helpful with all our needs. The hotel has seen better days but it's charming and it all adds to the character. Jacmel was exceptionally humid...

Nice restaurant out of the sun--service was extremely slow (they had to go out and buy the ingredients before making it) but the servers were nice and the location is wonderful. Food was fresh and delicious! Expensive by Haitian standards but a good bargain by North American standards :) nice art shop, and nice view from upper floors

I loved the building and hotel. The bed was incredibly comfortable and mosquito net was really efficient! The concept of the hotel is great. There aren't a lot of older buildings left in Jacmel so its quite an experience to stay in one. The decor was cool and the restaurant had great food - ask for whatever was caught that...

The place is an old, beautiful house in the center of the town, really close to the beach. The room was clean and spacious, with a huge bed (including a very protective mosquito net), and the hotel itself had a great vibe and enviorment. Bathroom was very small and dark, with a tiny shower and not comfortable at all. Staff...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The finest house in Jacmel. Built in 1888 in "New Orleans" style. Furnished with antiques--art is everywhere. The best restaurant and bar in town--by far. Jacmel is the safest and most charming town in Haiti--and Haiti has always been the most interesting country in the Caribbean for sophisticated travelers. The Hotel Florita is the only 19th Century house that is as it still in daily use. It is an opportunity to see what life in Jacmel was like for the coffee merchants a hundred years ago. Jacmel was built on coffee--the cash crop of subsistence farmers in the mountains--and still has the best coffee anywhere. We now have a pool and will take you to any local beach--and pick you up as well. We arrange for you to get picked up at the airport--or exactly how to take local transportation to get here. We arrange excursions and do whatever we can to make your visit to Jacmel memorably pleasant. We have a large and comfortable restaurant and bar. Please go to TripAdvisor to see our reviews--and who wrote them! (TripAdvisor rates us as the number one hotel in Haiti.) ... more   less
