Didn't stay there but walked through it as we got off yacht. Simple camping with young children having a great time on the beach and in the water. Safe for kids and families. Simple but adequate facilities: shower, toilets, laundry. Excellent eat out facilities very close.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The site has great facilities (there is a £1 charge for the shower, but it runs for ~20mins and is hot!) and with the restaurant on site and local shop only a few minutes walk away there's plenty of choice for food and drinks. Rather surprised by some of the previous reviews as the...

Definitely one of the best meals we have ever had- our three course dinner (with fresh lobster) was super tasty and enough to make us hang around on gigha to have lunch there the next day. A lovely friendly atmosphere and we got to camp right outside with views of the sea. We discovered a new wine, hot chocolate that...

We got the last ferry over on Friday and twenty minutes later we had the tent up on a fabulous spot, two feet from the sandy beach, dinner for two booked and wine poured. Bliss. The food was excellent. Had local scallops and probably the best fish and chips ever. The desserts looked great too. I nearly didn't come here...

I stayed one of the bell tents, in what has been one of the windiest weeks in the summer. Thankfully it withstood the wind and rain. Huge area inside, along with 2 beds/sofas as well as bedding, tables and rugs. Just watch out for the picnic table outside if you go the toilet block in the dark without a torch...

The other posts for this campsite hit the nail on the head. The owners are not interested in the site or the campers. I have been taking my family here for over 10 years and will not be going back. The site is not being managed. Grass is overgrown, bins overflowing and rodent ridden, toilets in ladies broken, clothes dryer...

Thank you for taking the time to finally review us after coming here for ten years. Please allow me to reply to your points. The grass is not overgrown, there are some areas that have been left to overgrow because the island trust, who own the campsite, asked us to deter people from camping there. Any areas that you are...

We have been to Gigha and stopped on the camp site many a time over the last 7 years. This visit was quite different to our previous visits. On arrival to the site we walked into the boat house to be greeted by a rather messy entrance (I thought I was walking into a store room ) and a very...

Dear My Gaye I made a promise to myself that I would not respond to reviews on Tripadvisor, despite some glaringly bad reviews written by people who wish our restaurant to suffer, I have seen other business owners respond on Tripadvisor and I believe it is just better to let the good reviews totally negate the bad ones. But what...

Cycled to Gigha and stayed at the Boathouse Cafe, Bar which also has a place to pitch tents, with shower (you must pay a £1 on top of your pitch fee) and toilet facilities. This is a lovely spot for camping, but Remember the Boathouse isn't a proper Campsite, its a Cafe, Bar and Restaurant, which makes extra money by...
