What we liked about this was the nice and quiet ambience. The hotel staff seemed extremely happy and cheerful and would comply with all requests. We are finicky about the hygiene of bathrooms and quality of beds, which we thought was really good. The place is a perfect destination for couples who want to spend some quality time with each... We found this place walking the streets of Giswil. About 12 of us came in and the girl who saw us said they had an outdoor area we could use as we hadn't booked and they were busy for dinner. We were happy for this as it was warm albeit looked like it may rain. Outside were some locals who... More

We chose this simple little hotel to keep from paying much higher prices in the Interlaken/Jungfrau area. It was comfortable, and met our needs, even though our room had a shared bath. The furniture was beautiful old antiques that all matched. If we had been traveling by train, it would have been a great choice, since it was literally steps... More

I thought this would be a grand old railway hotel and it was, except that we were put in a little cottage outside the main building. This might have been a good thing as the main building was a bit smoky ('fusty' we would say). After arrival it took 10 minutes before someone gave us the key, but actually the... More

The manager/chef at the Hotel Bahnhof is very rude. We (a group of four) arrived at the hotel on a Tuesday to find out that the hotel was closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Neither booking.com or the hotel had advised us that the hotel was closed on these days and we spent 20 minutes walking around and knocking on doors and... More

We stayed in the annex with sounds of rushing water, beautiful views of the farmlands and mountains. Giswil is truly such a lovely, unexpected bit of paradise. We had wonderful personal tour up the mountain and stoped along the way to tour a cheese-making farm. The ride up the tram was excellent. The views are fabulous. Our stay in Giswil... More

When we opened the window in our room, we were greeted with the melodious sound of the cowbells from the nearby field. The restaurant has great food. The small town is rural and quiet. We used it as our 1st night stop after the international flight and liked being able to get outside and do some simple hiking. The location... More

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It's conveniently situated on the trans-swiss trail. The accomodation was clean, the guest house is situated on a little creek away from the train station, so there is no noise at night. In the Restaurant you can enjoy food in different price classes (simple to gourmet). All prepared by a acclaimed gourmet chef.
