My boyfriend and I had the most amazing stay at Kurt's finca. It is obviously well loved and taken care of. Lots of love for details, Kurt has renovated this charming finca from the 16th century over 20 years with all his heart. We wholeheartedly recommend this picturesque hidden treasure, although we'd rather keep it a secret ;) Kurt also turned out to be a gifted cook: he organised a dinner night with all residents where he prepared super tasty local food. Note: you do need a car to get to this hidden gem!

We've invited 20 of our friends to celebrate our 10 years anniversary wedding and we had a great time with Kurt in the Finca. We've also discovered that Kurt is a very good chef as he prepared our 5 dishes dinner with a well decorated table.
The staff is great too! A big thanks to Manuela who prepared our breakfast, attended all our needs and find a solution to all the requests we asked her.
We aware that since the place is a Finca there's a lot of animals going around, there's a lot of cats and dogs around the main house.

This was our first stay at Finca Can Duvai. We arrived late at night (flight delayed) and checked in to such a great little apartment called "Mondhaus". Very cozy, well maintained and clean. The style is quite unique - one of a kind with lots of fun artwork and interesting details. We (my wife, my 5 year old daughter and i) loved the wellkept grounds with GIANT cactus! Most of our week were spend by the pool.... such a cozy place for us adults and a safe place for our little daughter to play, learn to swim and meet new friends. The staff was great and the manager/owner Kurt was always kind and helpful. Dont miss the 2 in-house-dinners offered on certain days. Great food and fun to meet the other guests. THANK YOU Kurt + staff for a GREAT stay! We will be back :-) Best regards, Bente, Ella & Jens

This Finca was beautiful and the main staff at the place will go out of their way to serve and help you. Sasha and Amir, two of the workers there, were fantastic and went above and beyond to help guests with taxis, food, directions, etc. The atmosphere is very german, and lots of the guests are from Germany. The pool is nice and there are lots of animals around the farm, including cats, turtles, roosters, horses etc. A rental car is a must as there is not much directly around this location, it is a rustic farm secluded from any nearby towns/cities. Breakfast buffet is provided and set out at 9am.

BE AWARE- This place comes with hidden fees put on by the owner. The owner added on “short stay” fees for each room, defining a short stay as anything under 7 days. They added a fee for parking for each room rented, even though we did not bring a car. Each room had an additional 50-60$ worth of fees added onto the advertised price. Additionally, while air conditioning is advertised, not all of the rooms in the main building actually have air conditioning, so it can get very hot.

The website/travel sites still show a restaurant at this location however they are no longer serving lunch or dinner so if you come here you will NEED to bring your own food. The kitchens are small but there are fire pits outdoor cooking areas available.

We stayed at the finca with our 3 young children and enjoyed much of our stay but this was tainted by the attitude of the owner and the shocking hidden and made up charges on the final bill. Although the finca is stunning on first appearance and we could see the work that the owner had put into it over the years, sadly it is starting to look very tired with poor quality bobbly bedding and threadbare towels. We could happily see beyond this but other issues were unacceptable such as a broken pot being attributed to our son despite it already being broken when we arrived. The owner went to find our 6 year old son when on his own to ask him if he had broken it even though we had already told him that we knew nothing about it. The place is beautiful and filled with nick nacks found by owner but this makes it more suitable for a couples break rather than being a place that welcomes families, particularly when the owner is evidently very precious about all of his treasures. The swimming pool is also not fenced off so this again makes it highly unsuitable for those with young children.
Dinners whilst a very romantic atmosphere, took many hours to be served and were rather haphazard and again very unsuitable for children as they ran out of food and our children had to go to bed without pudding as it had not emerged by 10pm (despite the meal starting at 7pm!).
The worst part of the stay was the situation with the final bill at the end where items were incorrectly added on and when we pointed this out, the owner became very unpleasant.
In summary, a beautiful location but unsuitable for families and spoiled by the greedy, dishonest and unpleasant nature of the owner.
