All's well at Son Matias as usual. All the fabulous staff still the same, very warm welcome back received from everyone. Food still the same and rooms are perfect with a fabulous sea view. Surrounding area very quiet as out of season. Nick and mark the entertainment staff were

Currently what a lovely team of staff they have here! We had a mix up this morning with rooms but they sorted it straight away and without any hesitation, all staff we have met so far have been lovely happy smiley people! We got a bottle of champagne delivered to our room as an

In my opinion this is a great hotel ,which is adults only.We have just got back from there,March 2019,so it was during the "closed season".There were around 200 guests when we were there, practically all retired people like us.The rooms were cleaned every day and toiletries

Yes there is a policy of no reserving of beds . The staff come around and put a sticker on empty beds with towels on. They return one hour later and if the sticker is still there and the bed is empty they remove the towels. However they only seem to do this once a day but at least they do make some effort and there is always the threat that it could happen when you are away from bed. Apart from this people do queue from about 7.30 in the morning (door opens at 9.00) to put towls on bed. I think this is largely to ensure that they get the particular bed they want. We stayed end July / beginning of August last year and got a bed each time we wanted one. we never got up and queued , just had breakfast and went to pool at around 9.30AM or some days we went out in the morning and still got a bed at lunchtime. There are however lots of people who return to this hotel year on year. They seem to have a favourite bed and expect to get it each day. The "returners" do act a bit as though they own the place and the hotel does openly give them favourable treatment - free newspapers etc. The position of this hotel , right on the beach, is very good but the hotel does get very booked up and is more expensive than some other hotels. I have also stayed at Globales Santa Lucia Hotel - about 200 yards away and also right on the beach . This is also a nice hotel and tends to be cheaper . The queuing for beds is not so bad there but the bed that you get may be up some steps on a higher level than the pool.

We have not stayed in March, but I am aware it is quiet in the resort and the entertainment programme at the hotel is not the main season one, but they do have nightly cabaret from local acts.

I stayed at this hotel for approximately 4 weeks from end of September to October 2018. All I can say is it's a beautiful place and it's location is perfect. Just far enough away from mayhem of magaluf and right in the heart of son calui. The jet 2 rep is crap and will find you off with information telling you that taxi's are the best way around. Rubbish !!!!! The bus stops 100 yards around the corner from the hotel. 1.60 to Santa Ponsa and 2.00 to Palma. Or 5 Euro direct to the airport. Ask at reception for info. The rep told me this hotel was closed at Xmas time and was totally untrue. She did this because she was moving to another hotel for the Xmas period. Tbh Ivan,Zeta and the hotel management will help you more than any UK representative. When in Spain do as the Spanish and you'll be treated fairly and respectfully. I'd stay here anytime. I was ill for 5 weeks and they couldn't do enough to make my stay as comfortable as possible as my husband had to return to the UK. Christobal and the restaurant staff will assist you with anything you want nothing is too much trouble. Miguel who looks after the English style breakfasts will do whatever you ask and even teach you Espanol as he did for me. I can't wait to go back again this year and hopefully end up living overseas with the beautiful people of the Balearic Islands.
