If you need a lovely clean room / apartment for a very reasonable price e.g. £40 per night then look no further. No food but it is in central Mijas surrounded by cafes and restaurants. Park down the road in the municipal car park for 1 euro per day! All good!

We got a room from the top floor with a good balcony and a great view to the cost. With sunshine balcony was really warm and sheltered from the wind. Room was clean and with aircon to warm it up quickly. Location is quiet end of walking street. This makes it a bit hard to find. You need to enter...

Small hostel, basic room, friendly and helpful receptionist. The location of this hostel is perfect, giving easy access to restaurants and shops in the centre of town. It is tucked away off the square so very peaceful. As mentioned in other reviews, it's tricky to locate on arrival and there are steps to negotiate and no lift in the building....

We stayed for 3 nights in February and it was a very nice place to stay. Location was very good for the pueblo. Price was excellent, staff were great and it was very clean. It's says it's a hostel but that's only because they don't serve food or have a pool. Their is a mini bar in your room, tv/DVD...

Tucked away, just off the square - right in the middle of everything and yet peaceful and quiet. What a fantastic combination. And what fantastic value. If you want to explore Mijas, this is the place to do it from.

We were looking for an interesting town to visit on our way to a resort on Costa del Sol. What we found was gem of a hotel in a charming rural town. Yes, there are lots of tourists, even in November, but the town is fascinating nonetheless and there are quiet areas to be found with spectacular views and with...

This Hostel is amazing ! Spotlessly clean, clean bedding every day, lovely large room ( 8) right in the centre of everything. Lovely bars and restaurants on your doorstep, and all the lovely shops. On an evening Mijas is a different place with lots of Tapas bars as well as outstanding restaurants. We will be making a return visit.

We didn't expect too much from this hostel as it was such a good deal and rated one star but what a lovely surprise. Couldn't fault it - central but quiet location, good size room, comfortable bed, good quality linen/towels, modern bathroom, great balcony with sea views and sunloungers Recommend without hesitation.

I stayed at El Escudo from the 18th of August till 28th for 10 nights, I stumbled upon this hidden gem via the Internet, I used it as a bolt hole while I followed La Vuelta 2015, (cycle race- tour of Spain) I can only speak highly of El Escudo, as it's excellent accommodation and very more than helpful staff...
