We are from India and coming to Portugal with no knowledge of portuguese was a challenge for us. But this hotel and their staff was so helpful that it made our lives easy and comfortable. Their rooms are large and clean. Lobby and dining area is also nicely planned and comfortable. Definitely my choice here.

We had a wonderful stay at Novotel Porto Gaia during the 2016 Oct/Nov mid term school vacation. We checked in to the hotel around 9.00pm as we drover 1200km from Niort, France to Porto. Porto was our road trip's second stop. At reception we were warmly welcomed and located a family room and gave two gifts for my children as... More

Pleasant and relaxing stay. Loved the swimming pool, small but tranquil with sun lounges available. Location is a bit setback as the hotel is stranded among highways. Dinner and snacks bar are of good quality even though food for breakfast could have been a bit more diversified. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Spent three days in Porto and was searching for a hotel away from the noise of Porto: a town that rarely sleeps. Novotel in Porto Gaia was exactly what were looking for. Don't let your map fool you: my family (to include 8-year old daughter) walked to downtown Porto daily (about 45-minutes at an easy pace). The two areas are... More

We spent 5 days here first-half of October. We booked about a month ahead and choice of where to stay was restricted so we plumped for the Novotel (superior room) and requested high floor/sea/river view. Taxi from Airport took 15 mins and cost 17 Euros (maybe longer & more if rush hour). Efficient check-in and we were given a room... More

We have been coming to Porto for many years and always stay in this hotel. It's in neighbouring Gaia but the prices are really good and it's a short taxi ride into town. Better still it's easy to walk to the Marina and sling the beautiful Gaia beach line from.

We had a couple of nights in this hotel, nice and clean, friendly staff, lovely breakfast which was better than what we expected. Don,t have a meal at the restaurant though,it was very poor. Be aware every time you want to go to the city you have to get a taxi.

First impression can suggest this is a typical business hotel. On further investigation it is pleasantly more than that. Relaxed but smart with lovely pool set in neat gardens it is a little gem. Free parking which in Porto is a bonus. It is over the Douro from central Porto but a short taxi ride will take you to the... More

Porto is definately a must to see Porto on any one's list! A magnificent city that oozes the mystique of most other cities. Accomodation was well situated with magnificent views and easy to reach destinations. Rooms good well kept somewhat dated which did not matter as they were comfortable and as it was you didn't stay there too long as... More
