Castle Di Mugnana has its origins before 1000 AD, with most of the building structures from ~1300 or so. It is a fabulous, authentic, well preserved castle and we stayed on the first floor of the tower in a spacious room with stone floor, wooden shutters and old beam and plank ceiling. Of course the three foot thick walls play...

I just spent a week at Castel di Mugnana and everything was awesome. The castle and everything about it is beautiful. If you want to have a nice vacation away from the city life this is the best place to be. The gentleman that takes care of the castle Alfredo is very helpful. If you want to drive to Florence,...

We stayed here during April in the Tuscan area. It was very quiet and great to relax. Fortunate for us we had the castle to ourselves and loved every moment. We were able to visit wineries in the area and sample some local food and also cook our own. Recommended for a relax away from hustle and bustle.

Castello di Mugnana is definitely Chianti's best kept secret! We did make a mistake in thinking the town of Greve was a walk or bus ride away so that we could rent a moped once we got there. We took a cab to the Castello from Florence and realized it was not convenient to any bus stop so you must...

The owner personally greeted us with a basket of fresh fruit and had the room stocked with a few groceries so that we had something to eat if we needed. The owners/caretakers allowed...

My family and I recently returned from a two week trip to Italy where we stayed for one week at the Castello di Mugnana. We had a great time and I highly recommend this place. When we were planning our trip, for some reason our travel agent did not have many choices for staying in Tuscany (kind of unusual as...

We stayed in the Castello di Mugnana in August for a week and had a fantastic time. They have 8 apartments, but we were the only guests there for the majority of the time. We were welcomed by the owner who kindly left us some breakfast items in the kitchen which was a lovely touch. The caretaker lives in the...
