I am afraid this is one of the few places I have visited that I would not recommend anyone to go to. Fattoria di Castiglianchio is characterized by the beautiful scenery of Tuscany and has a wonderful view from most balconies. The pool area is nice with enough parasols and deck chairs. The baby pool is great for 1-3 year...

Our family spent 3.5 weeks in the UK/France and Italy. We booked almost all of our accommodations through Airbnb and had excellent experiences. We booked a week at Castiglionchio as our one luxury accommodation. It is far from luxury. The most disappointing part is how much they nickel and dime you for everything. You have to rent towels, they provide...

Our party of 7 stayed in 3 appartments in the beautiful estate of Castiglionchi. Accommodation basic but served our needs, rustic environment with so much to do. Our kids loved the choice of the two pools, one only shoulder deep and the other to your knees. If staying ask for the rooms over looking the pool. We had a fabulous...

I booked at Fattoria di Castiglionchio with some trepidation after reading the variety of reviews. I decided we would chance it, as we were not looking for 5 star luxury, but a Tuscan experience and we were not disappointed. I mentioned to my family that the accommodations may not be 100%, so to keep their expectations down, and we felt...

Stayed 2nd week May and the place was deserted only 20 people there when at capacity it can accomodate 300. Had the pool to ourselves most days with a stunning view of the Tuscan countryside. Would recommend car hire as located at the top of a very winding steep hill with no lights in the evening. We were a group of...

When we arrived we were a little disappointed. The rooms were spacious, but clearly showing their age and a little neglect. So, initially, we thought we'd made a mistake. However, over the following days, it became clear that the value of Castiglionchio lay in the family orientation of the hotel. Evening dinners, horseback riding, and music nights convinced us that...

Stayed here with my family in August for 1 week, I booked an apartment for 4 people via a travel agency in Austria. First you need to look for this place by driving to the small place Rosano (not Rignano.......). After having checked-in we were escorted to our apartment......cleanliness is a word they have not heard off......we had to clean...

Our long anticipated and much needed relaxing break was sadly shattered on arrival. The venue was nothing like what we had expected from the description and pictures on the website. In our opinion the whole place is very run down, tatty and grubby and feels neglected. We weren't expecting luxury but we were expecting the basics to be in place,...

After reading the mixed reviews we were rather unsure of what to expect but as soon as we arrived at this beautiful location & friendly reception, complete with a complimentary bottle of wine, we knew we'd made the right choice. We weren't looking for a holiday village styled for the tourist but a real Tuscan experience, and that was happily...

We have just got back from a great week at Castiglionchio. We have been on lots of self-catering holidays in France in rural gites, and we chose Castiglionchio because we thought it would be of a similar style, albeit with some of the advantages of a larger complex. I think this judgement was right - there are enough units onsite...

“All rooms seemed to have great views either of the pool, courtyards, vineyards or surrounding countryside.”

“Frattoio 6 is great for 2 people, with a shared outside area with 2 large tables in a little garden area, although due to it's location you end up having this space to yourself or sharing it with only one other apartment, so nice private area. Walls are thin with the apartment connected (7 which you don't see) so twice we had a bang on the wall at night to keep our voices down! Frattoio 14 & 15 are in the middle of a block of 4 with not a lot of shade outside. So when people sit outside you are all next to one another and people do walk past to get to their own apartments.”
