Have just returned from Naxos and it is still hot and sunny enough to swim every day in the sea. The journey is ok, Flight to Mykonos, 2 hour wait at the harbour but you can leave your bags and walk into the town (5 mins) for lunch. Sunny Beach studios are in a quite location a few minutes from a lovely beach, but the room was very small. We booked a late holiday in a 2/3 person studio, (room 30). The room was really only meant for 2 single beds but they had squashed in another full size single. Great pillows and comfy beds. The bathroom is tiny, you sit on the loo with one foot in the shower tray, the shower curtain was hanging on only 4 hooks and useless and we managed to flood the bathroom every day. But plenty of hot water and good pressure and plugs for the sink. No mop for drying the floor, or bath mat. So you had to remember to put your shoes on for every visit, even in the night. Don't even consider cooking in the kitchette apart from tea or coffee, there is no area to prepare anything, plates and bowls are plastic and not enough cutlery.
The rooms were cleaned bedding and towels changed every day , we never saw the cleaners, owner or our rep all week(this didn't bother us) Location is great, beach is sandy and very quiet, theres a small bay at one end for sailing and windsurfing, short walk into town where there are some great eating places especially in the old town.
Naxos is great, you should go but if you want room to move don't choose the Sunny Beach studios.

We travelled with Apollo agency in Sweden and the description was not up to date - in a good way; free A/C, free WiFi. The WiFi was slow and not so reliable.

The area and distace to beach, city and som on was exellent. Also were the guests.

Try to take your shower early in the afternoon, the water supply was sometimes out of order due to many guests showering at the same time

I tried to book a place at Naxos Holidays Hotel at the very last minute. They pleasantly offered Sunny Beach as an alternative. I don't mind the circular pool jammed between the buildings that offered no value to the guests because of the little space around. I wouldn't use it anyway. The place is OK at night but noisy in the morning. Be it guests arriving or departing or the cleaning person moving furniture, the noise comes through your room. I complained a couple of times about the noise to the cleaning person but it's pointless. The place is managed by the Naxos Holidays Hotel, a 10-minute walk from here. For breakfast you have to walk (or drive). Basically there is no service. The room was clean, so we're towels and bedsheets. It's a ten minute walk to the sea. The A/C unit was working but if you wanted to stay on the balcony while it was working you couldn't, because the part of the unit that pushes out the warm air was at the balcony. I was offered a good price give the last minute booking in August, but I wouldn't come back again here if I had to make a choice.

This must be our fifth stay in Naxos so far, and our fourth at Sunny Beach apartments.

Very handily situated close behind the quieter end of St. George Beach, (behind the Flisvos water sports centre) the Sunny Beach apartments are in a two small blocks which surround a small circular swimming pool. From the road, the apartments look like a private villa - and to be honest once you are there, it feels like one too. Not in the decoration, which is standard greek style (nothing to write home about), but by the fact that it is so close to a lovely part of the beach, that most other guests don't hang around the pool very much - so it often feels like it is just yours.

The rooms are cleaned every day, (except Sundays) fresh bedding and towels every day, and the lovely cleaner isn't banging on your door at 9:15 - they seem to be aware of when you have left the room somehow. Its a clever trick because there is no one in residence at the apartments. When you first arrive you are given your room number by your representative - the key is in the door, and thats it basically. If you need help you can either call your rep (or see him at the meetings) or nip over to the hotel across the road and see Katrina who is far more helpful.

There is a small area that I suppose you could call a reception, where the tour rep boards are, and also various books, magazines and items such as lilos, brollies etc., are left by nice guests who have left, but didn't want to take them with them on the plane.

The pool is checked regularly for chlorine levels etc., - we saw both the local guy, and our rep do it a number of times. There are also plastic loungers around the pool - about six - but enough considering hardly anyone spends time at the pool.

The rooms are average size, some seem to have had a bit of a white wash recently, most have a hairdryer, and some have a television. However ours didn't have a lead, so we didn't get to watch anything (not that we would have of course). We had a small clock radio, which worked fine and we picked up some quaint local music, which was nice occasionally.

All rooms have airconditioning, but you do have to pay an extra 5Euros per day for this - which seems quite steep, especially as in some rooms it doesn't seem to work very well.

You could also be sneaky and use a neighbours remote control, and split the cost of the a/c which makes it cheaper of course. There are no fans in the room, so I would say you do need this.

There is a small bathroom with loo, shower, and sink, and as usual the shower is a hand-held contraption and water sprays everywhere. But the water was always hot, and the shower was a good strength.

Some rooms have a double bed, and some have twin beds, which they will push together for you. The beds are very hard though to be honest - not terribly comfy. Small bedside tables at either side, lights for reading, and above the mirror and centre of the room and plenty of plug sockets - all in useful places i.e. near the mirror/seating area. There is a good size double wardrobe, with extra blankets, and pillows, plenty of different types of coathangers, and enough storage space for a couple of weeks I reckon.

A little balcony on each room with plastic chairs and metal table, and either views of the surrounding countryside or the pool area.

In terms of situation, i find it really ideal. Far enough away from the town but not too far to walk, (10 to 15 minutes with plenty of tavernas enroute) and within 2 minutes walk to the beach. It is a five minute walk to the bus stop where you can buy tickets opposite in the bakery (yum) to get to the beautiful Plaka beach area, and only a bit more up the hill to get to a superb clean and well stocked supermarket, and also the good fun open air cinema (don't forget to take your own beer ) which is opposite the supermarket. You don't hear this by the way when you are at Sunny Beach - the wind must blow in the opposite direction.

If you need it (which I hope you wouldn't) the police station is about 10minutes walk away) and you can get into town easily by either strolling leisurly along the beach (whilst catching the sunset with cocktails at Trata Bar on the beach) , or going the back way and up via the main streets.

Whilst Naxos Town has something for everyone including good shopping, great little stylish bars (try Naxos Cafe or the Ouzo bar)
fab tavernas to suit all tastes etc., you must really try to get a quad or a car and tour the island. Its not difficult, and once you get out of the main town (which takes about a second) the roads are quiet, well signposted and the views are amazing. Lots of little villages en-route, and loads of things to see. There are free road maps everywhere - so grab the chance - its worth having a quad for atleast three days.
If you have any questions, I am more than happy to answer them about Sunny Beach or about Naxos.

Very bad situated, in the middle of no where compared with the other tons of hotels placed by the sea and/or in the village. It was advertised 50m from the beach and 200m from the village center; actually it is 300m from the beach by a ground path with no lights; and 800m from the village by the road (no pavements). Close to a watercourse, so you have plenty of mosquitos.
And about the rest of facilities, rooms are small, terrible matress, very noisy fridge and no assistance at all, you to call a cell number and wait long for anything.

The location is false it is not there. We spend 2 hour walking around the city looking for it. It is 300 m from the beach and more than 2 km from the town. The same happens with Naxos Holidays Hotel. They are the same owner and both appear with the same location en Google maps what they are not there. The hotel is very bad and there iant a recepcionist there. The swiming pool is nice but the rooms are horrible. Look my pictures. The place is dark to came late.

A very nice, comfortable and quiet hotel decorated in the traditional greek style just next to the beach! We loved the place as it is not located far from the centre of the town and yet so tranquile! There was a nice swimming pool and plenty of parking space for our rented car. The room was clean, cosy and had everything we needed. We loves the sea view from the balcony. It felt like living in our own beach house!

My partner and I stayed ar sunny beach for 5 nights.

Location was great. Close (5 min walk to beach and 10 mins to supermarket).

Room was not huge but was clean. Shower cubicle was a little small, not a lot of room for larger persons.

The front desk didn’t have great English but we were able to muddle our way through and achieve the end result.

They cleaned the room regularly. We’re very helpful with fresh pillows and small requests.

In short, lovely, relaxing place to stay. The pool was nice and close. Paradise. Sunsets every night. Definitely worth a visit.

Disgusting hotel. Not clean at all. Never again. The pictures tell it all. We booked another hotel ourselves as we didn't want to sleep in this horror hotel. Never book it!!! No booking site should offer this hotel anyway.

Not our original choice of accommodation but see my review on Naxos Holidays Hotel to find out the story behind our arrival at SBS.
Our top floor room (no 34) was cleaned daily by a very hard working lady who also changed the towels daily and the bedding frequently. We had a great view of the mountains and the sun was on the balcony every day until about 1.30 in the afternoon. The pool was circular and 2.2m deep at one end. Sun beds were situated around the pool but as there are 34 rooms in 2 blocks it could possibly become crowded if everyone wanted to sit around the pool. We sat around the pool on a few occasions and found it peaceful. The beach is a fairly short walk as are a number of beach fronted tavernas. It is a very pleasant walk into Naxos Town along the beach and especially safe at night as you aren't walking along a busy main road to reach your accommodation. This also means there is hardly any traffic noise. Our room had recently been refurbished so had new beds and furniture as well as a re-tiled shower room and wc. The air conditioning was free and effective and there was a nice, new fridge. There was a two ring electric hob but no kettle. We took our own little travel kettle to enjoy a coffee at the end of the evening. The wi-fi was extensive around the apartments. We thought the location was very good and there is space to park a car if you hire one - which we did but not through the Olympic rep. There are quite a few rental outlets in the Town and a car is definitely worth having to explore the island. Naxos Town is really lovely as is the rest of the island and we really enjoyed our stay. It isn't the easiest Greek island to get to from the UK and that is why we noticed that the majority of the tourists were from Italy or Greece itself. We would stay at Sunny Beach Studios again if we could be guaranteed a room on the top floor at the time of booking.
