Very nice location, clean hotel, attentive people.
Thank you to Blandine for her help to find a very nice and quite room.
Breakfast was not excellent and should have been better for the price you pay, in the 2 hotels we had before breakfast was much cheaper and better !
Pool very good and large.
We had dinner here one evening and were very disappointed, quality of the food and red wine ( red burgundy at Eur 43) was not acceptable.
The best: We particularly appreciated breakfast in the room until 12pm and the pool was open until 10pm - perfect for relaxing holidays. The food in the restaurant is very good.
However the Hotel is an ageing beauty and needs some refurbishement and redecoration. We sincerely hope that Group Accor will put this gem on the priority list for a refreshment and then it would be rated "excellent"!
*Positive points: The staff is very friendly and available. The breakfast buffet is really great. The restaurant is very good, with a very pleasant terrace overlooking the ocean.
The location of the hotel is ideal for relaxing: by the ocean, deep in the forest, in a quiet area.
The room was cozy, all the necessary comfort with even a small balcony.
The spa offers very pleasant relaxing treatments and the team is top notch!
*Negative points: the building is aging and certain parts deserve to be renovated, notably the swimming pool area. In addition the prices are quite high (€850 for 3 nights 2 breakfasts in a standard room in August, note that the price however includes unlimited access to the swimming pool, sauna, hammam, gym).
Sea view room, high price therefore, with a sofa aged 15 or 20 years, painting to be redone because many black marks on the ceiling just like the bathroom door bottom strip dirty (black) and yes, that can be changed.. .in addition to the fact that the shower door does not close. Dated swimming pool but friendly staff (coach + treatment reception); when mentioning the treatments, appointment made for 30 minutes of treatment... Made 5 minutes late and finished 5 minutes before, i.e. 10 minutes less out of 30 minutes at the rate of 70 euros, that makes the actual minute expensive. Having known the establishment for more than 10 years, I note that it is poorly maintained, for example, the black and green marks on the facade... it looks like it is for sale and that no maintenance work has been done. is achieved/planned. At more than 700 euros for 2 nights, we are disappointed to say the least. At this price or even cheaper, there are many other better establishments such as Sofitel south of La Rochelle or the Mercury in Sables d'Olonnes. the only positive point is the situation facing the sea...but this in no way affects the elements mentioned above.
The rooms are fairly basic, in need of modernisation, the balcony is literally tiny and on the side of the bed next to the bathroom there is less than a foot of space to shuffle on and out.
We are in the restaurant one night and it was average.
If this had been 150 a night I would have been satisfied but there is no way it is worth the price we paid.
The location is nice and this place could and should be so much nicer.
I would suggest looking for better value elsewhere unless you get lucky with a really good deal
Room: obsolete and broken bedding; sink that moves as well as the pathères; on the other hand, housekeeping well done...
Swimming pool: Exterior airlock; no more handle: a string to open... unacceptable for a 4 *... black joints - rust dripping on the walls; we should think about renovating this swimming pool for more than 30 years; pierced ceiling canvas; black soil; the steps or rather the boards are in very poor condition - verdigris on the tiles.. Thanks to Eric, David and Marthe for their kindness and dedication.Fitness room: dilapidated bike...Hamman broken down for 3 days: too old..
A DJ? he was useless; you might as well play a soundtrack, it would do the same and cost less; where have the "musicos" gone much better...
No more newspapers either...
Exteriors: terrace not swept after storm; it is not up to the residents to put the cushions in place, which are torn elsewhere..Etienne sometimes makes sure to do so....This terrace where pieces of wood stick out (dangerous) tables not always cleared.. ..
You will tell me why we have been going back there for years; calm, view and see all the staff very friendly and helpful to us: Philippe, Jessy, Benjamin, Morgan, Yohann, France, Carole, Gaëlle, Ludivine, Agnès, Jylinska, and of course Etienne....and I forget some ...Thank you all...
It's a decline from year to year; when we knew ACCOR a long time ago...The liner is collapsing - Renovation to be redone; the walls are crumbling; mold on balcony walls...
Attention ACCOR - THALAZUR will take power....Think about it.....
Thank you for this good time
If you like walking or running, you can easliy do a 8-10km directly from the hotel.
Breakfast choice is fine with a good mix.
We tried dinner on Friday night but found the price of 45€ for the seafood buffet a bit too expensive, eventhough the quality was fine.
Large sea water swimming pool and nice Thalasso in the hotel.
Really great place in a magical environment.
