We had a very pleasant stay at this establishment in mid-July. Quiet, clean environment, surrounded by greenery, close to a very beautiful beach, excellent swimming pool without noise, perfect breakfast, lunch (to order) taken under the restaurant arbor and excellent meal from the chef (not to be missed). If we return to the island it will without hesitation be this establishment. Very warm welcome from management and staff.
Thanks again!

3-day stay with my two sons from August 13 to 16 in this very well located hotel which combines simplicity and customer service. The rooms are very clean, the welcome warm and attentive. The swimming pool area is very pleasant with a very clean and good size swimming pool.
There is calm and the place is very pleasant. Bravo to the room and breakfast staff (also very good) for their kindness.

I could find the site for the restaurant review but wanted to comment anyway. We did not stay at the hotel however, we did reserve a table one night and had one of the best meals ever here. The French melt cheese like nobody else in the world and this place is does an excellent job. A bowl of fresh boiled potatoes smothered in melted cheese with delicious cold cuts is my new favorite dish. Make a reservation to eat here, you won't be disappointed. The staff was super friendly as well.

The food here is simply superb, the marriage of flavors is sensational and the little tips for tasting be waitor Anthony magnified the taste of every course. If You would like to experience true french excellence at reasonable prices then a visit to L'Hermitage is a must for people who have a passion for great food! Peter Walsh, Ireland

Logis hotels are usually a good bet, and this one was no exception. A bit like a motel setting, so the bonus was being able to park our car right outside our room. Individual garden furniture was supplied, so we could sit outside our room and enjoy the lovely September sunshine! A heated, outdoor, but nicely secluded swimming pool is a bonus. Good food, particularly the evening meal when the waitress kindly swapped main course (demi-pension menu) for some excellent scallops. Breakfast was plentiful too. The hotel is in a nice quiet location, but only about 10 minutes' walk from the most wonderful beach! Would go back again and stay for longer than one night!

had a very nice week in Hotel l'Hermitage on Ile d'Oleron. Quiet and peaceful area and a spacious comfortable hotel. Food very good and service also. Rooms typically French with excellent shower and heating available if cold. Bedlinen a bit random could do to be updated as could the dining room decor. Great storage for bikes and a good centre from which to cycle. Lovely swimming pool and it really was heated! Only minor gripe - the chambermaids missed a lot and didn't replace soaps etc - c'est la vie! We would go back.
