Excellent hotel - looks new. Nice pool area and direct access beach. Rooms spotless and a little different. Each has something quirky but very appropriate - upstairs loft area, well thought out decoration. I particularly liked the “Whale” bookcase made from an old oil drum!

Fresh fruit and extensive continental breakfast available. English speaking staff very helpful.

Most dog friendly hotel we found in 3 weeks touring France trip. Provide waste bags and waste bins. Dogs welcome in rooms, on grounds and adjacent beach (unusual on mainland beaches) . Barbecue areas provided. Nice pool and plenty loungers and umbrellas. Wonderful sunsets.

Short beach or road walk (10 mins) to fishing village with many restaurants, shops, supermarket etc. but 3 mins walk other direction is Le Cap. Drinks, occasional live music, pizza, burgers and local dishes well prepared and reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere, mainly locals.

We booked in for 2 days and extended to a week. Very relaxing and highly recommend Hotel Lumiere.

A haven of tranquility, the rooms are cozy, the sheltered terrace allows you to enjoy a breathtaking view of the ocean. Carefully furnished exterior, impeccable welcome. Even if there is no restaurant, you can eat catered meals in your room at low prices. Access 12 mins walk from la cotiniere.

We stayed 2 nights in an ocean view room.
A very smiling person welcomed us and gave us all the necessary explanations to have a good stay (sauna not mentioned). Our room overlooked a large, well-kept esplanade (well done gardeners) with a view of a piece of ocean (no swimming area). The room had a simple but very tasteful decoration, good bedding, refrigerator and safe. A small terrace in front of the room allowing you to relax in front of nature. Hearty breakfast, lots of diversity and quality products. Pleasant swimming pool below, partially sheltered from the wind. Fairly large parking lot but already full in the evening (this must be a difficulty in high season)
A good address not far from Cotiniere with everything you need to have a good time. To recommend

Second stay at this amazing Pension and I wanted to leave a review again. Everything was perfect again. The staff is amazingly kind. Always listening, with little care. This time we stayed with our dog. The location is perfect for them. They are welcomed with pleasure, the place is quiet and the layout of the rooms with each one having direct access to the outside is ideal. The setting is sublime with access to the beach, tables, barbecues, small trails.... The rooms are beautiful, spacious enough (and in addition we had the pleasant surprise of being upgraded!) , the bedding at the top, the perfect service, the little awesome fridge. And if you hesitate for breakfast then go for it! I have nothing but praise for this place which is definitely my favorite. I even regret to know it closed in winter but we will be back for sure for reopening in April. Thank you for this new stay again enchanted thanks to you!

4 days in a double room with sea view. 4 days that we will remember for a long time because we appreciated the hotel's services so much.
The room, redone a few years ago, is sufficiently large, clean, well appointed and tastefully decorated. Very high quality bedding, we have rarely slept so well in a transit place.
Breakfast is very good, with a fairly wide choice of sweets, more limited but sufficient savory options (normal and smoked ham, Gruyère and Camembert, fresh boiled eggs). The restaurant room is pleasant.
The staff is really very nice, chatty, it's a real pleasure to talk with them.
Having stayed in April, we were not able to take advantage of all the hotel services, but the swimming pool, the tennis court, the barbecues, the storage room for bicycles, all of this is in good condition and should be very pleasant.
For us, the most pleasant part of our stay was the sea view that we had from our room, as well as the continual sound of the sea, which lulled us to sleep. If these aspects are important, book one of these rooms, you should be satisfied.
In any case, for us, it was 4 days of great relaxation, to which this establishment greatly contributed. We will definitely come back and recommend it without reservation.

Really beautiful place, having the sand down from its terrace, it is really nice when you have a young child. quiet beach with searching for small crustaceans in the rocks, very clean room and bathroom very charming and personal and sea view beautiful. We'll definitely be back. To go even higher in the standing, here are suggestions: pancakes or pancakes at breakfast, mattresses a little less hard because for those with back problems, it is complicated, a restaurant or mini salad bar., gratings to go to the beach. Thank you very much 😉 🏖

Excellent welcome.
Nice setting.
Nice well maintained pool.
Sufficiently spacious room (with ocean view according to our choice)
Excellent bedding.
What more can I ask?
To be repeated at the earliest opportunity.
The fact that the Inn was sold out at the end of September demonstrates that it is appreciated by loyal guests.

Booked online, the room is very comfortable, pretty and clean. We have a kettle and a fridge. The bedding is neat and of quality. Large parking lots available.
On the seafront, you can access the beach (foreshore) directly. The welcome is warm. The prices are very justified.

Very beautiful hotel located in an idyllic setting with direct access to the ocean (ideal for watching the sunset). The hotel gardens are very well maintained, the renovation of the rooms has been done with great taste and we have a great time by the pool. The whole team is attentive and very attentive to cleanliness. A truly enchanted break in Oléron!
