Why stay with us? We have a central location with a stunning rooftop hangout and an incredible view of the Ganga. We have dinner parties every Thursday and an array of activities offered throughout the week. There is fresh chai available all hours of the day. You'll be greeted by our friendly dog, Blacky and we are always available to make your stay more enjoyable and to offer advice on the best places around town. Shiv Shakti Hostel was dreamt up two years ago when we recognized the need for a backpackers hostel in Rishikesh. We have been continuously innovating and can safely say we were the first hostel in Rishikesh to offer free wifi, the first to offer dorm rooms and the first with usb chargers. Our Hostel We have 3 great common areas where our guests can hang out and meet other travelers: -A rooftop lounge where guests can play cards or chat while enjoying a view of the Ganga. -A rooftop yoga area where nightly yoga classes are held. The area also has chairs and cots for a perfect reading spot. -A fun front desk lobby area that is always full of life from the hostel guests and staff to visitors from outside the hostel looking to enjoy some of the treks or adventures offered by us. We have 8 private rooms and 3 dorms. All have access to free wifi, plenty of power outlets, usb chargers, lockers, and bed linens. Our Activities Sunrise Trek – An amazing tour with our english speaking guides where guests will enjoy an incredible view of the sunrise. Breakfast is provided on the trek. Thursday Dinners – Every Thursday we have a family meal as a hostel. It's a great time to meet other travelers from the guesthouse and feel a part of our family. Evening Yoga – Yoga is offered on our rooftop six nights a week where our guests will be challenged physically and mentally.. It's offered on a donation basis. This is not a corporate chain hostel. We are an intimate, down-to-earth group of mates who love traveling and socializing. Come be a part of it!

After experiencing almost all hostels in Rishikesh, i will say shiv shakti is bag packers perfect budget accommodation with friendly/helping staff, amazing vibe, great location, nearby to ghats and famous cafes also with rooftop common area to get socialize.
Also i appreciate Anu and her staff, keep up the good work 😀👍

Daily activity like Ganga aarti, sunris.e trek, family dinner, dance, yoga etc etc
Improvement:
Water purifier atleast on alternate floor, currently on ground floor only

It was a backpacker trip, me along with my three other friends to Rishikesh and Chopta. Stayed in Shiv Shakti for two nights in their dormitory of 10 beds, which was properly cleaned and the beds were cosy. The local Rishikesh trip was well guided by Anu and Dj , who also helped us by booking a cab to Chopta, our trip ahead. For someone who went to Rishikesh for the first time, Anu DJ and the entire team made our stay a memorable one....from arranging roof top party at night to guiding all the way for our next destination.

This visit was our fifth year to Rishikesh, and stay at Shiv Shakti as well! So we admit that we relish staying at Shiv Shakti for the warm hospitality that is always extended to us by Anu, Nitin and the rest of the Team for sure. In Shiv Shakti's case, familiarity breeds happiness! To top that, we have been staying in the same room as well. Its clean, has hot water all the time, room cleaned and sheets changed when requested for. Also, its ideal location helps with easier access to food joints that are in abundance at Lakshman Jhula and nearby areas. We could go on... but lets say that we are returning to Shiv Shakti this year too! Aiming for 10 for sure! Thank you Anu and Nitin as always! All the best! :)

This might be a good dorm from what it seems after reading reviews. However, their "Deluxe Double Room" is in very shabby condition. The sheets had big gaping holes in them and did not seem washed since many days. The quilt had bigger holes and seemed dirtier. So much for the sanitization claims in light of COVID. Not a single staff had mask on (that's their problem though). The room was very small, dingy and without any ventilation. The window opens up in a back alley without any mosquito screen so forget about opening it after March.
The staff seemed nice but the room and the amount I paid for it was a rip off. The owner/management should stick to the dorm model and stop renting out rooms.
The location is right in the bang of Lakshman Jhula market near all cafes and music stores, which is what I always prefer during my stay at Rishikesh.
My rating: 0/5 for the exorbitant money the room cost me on top of dirty, worn out linen.

Having travelled a lot across the country, this is by far one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in! It has a great location as its is right in the middle of lakxman jhula. Cherry on top is the staff who wori there. There are no words enough to describe the kind of hospitality and comfort you recieve from nitin and rishikesh when youre at their hostel. They are vedy friendly and would be able to guide the travellers thoroughly as to what to do and where to eat etc.
They have great comfortable dorm beds with clean white linen.
They also have personal rooms with great view.
Plus to satisfy your social animal they also have a great rooftop sitting area where you could unwind and connect with other fellow travellers.
All in all it is a 10/10 hostel. There is absolutely nothing to complain. Have a great stay.

We were very pleased to stay there a few days even if they were Renovating the hotel we had an amazing room with a very comfortable bed and soft sheets. We enjoyed also the bathroom with the hot water but maybe they should change the shower since it shoots water in all directions... haha ! But all the rest was perfect, the staff there is amazing and very welcoming ! And we were very happy to be on this side of the river since the night was a lot more quiet ! When we were on the other side A few days before, we could hear honks even during the night so the sleep was less deep ! In Shiv Shakti Hostel I slept like a baby !!

I have been to Rishikesh twice before but this time after I stayed in shiv Shakti hostel my love for Rishikesh has increased manifold. It is amalgamation of many things, few I would like to mention is Anu and her staff were very helpful and friendly and treated me in a very nice way. The location of the hostel is best because from here all the cafes and the ghat is at walkable distance even one can access the waterfall easily. Best is to go for early morning walk/bicycling/running amidst the forest, do believe me its an amazing experience. In the end end for me the hostel felt like home, will keep visiting again much love for everyone :)

My stay at Shiv Shakti was a memorable one to say the least, Anu and the all staff were very hospitable and made we feel very welcome and safe. The rooms and toilets were maintained all throughout the day which I was really happy with. The rooftop has an incredible view which is where I spent most of my time, also the food was tasty and fresh. I can’t wait to go back at the end of the year & celebrate my birthday on the rooftop which the owner said I could do :)

I stayed in the room with my friend and it was really clean and spacious. Heater was provided. Location is really good but my room didn't have a view. Jitu and entire staff were cordial and helped us with everything. They have a kitchen which could be used by the guests. Wifi worked well. They arranged for two wheeler on rent and cab to airport as well.

I stayed in this lovely hostel in August 2019 and I have have great memories of it!
The staff there is super lovely, cooperative and helping. They showed us around, cooked for us, danced with us, helped us find medicine when we needed it. I can absolutely recommend staying there, no matter how short or long your stay will be!:)

Hi,
Yes you can rent bikes at the hostel. Last time when I was there they were giving service. They also have airport pick and drop service.
If you want you can get bikes from nearby shops as well.
The place is quite central from everywhere that there is to see in town. I stayed in a private room and it was very nice. Best hostel in the city
