We spent two weeks in the ashram in November. The first week we had the ayurveda and yoga package, the second the yoga retreat. From the first moment we felt like coming home. We were welcomed in a very warm way and given the information we needed(also printed). The ayurveda treatments (prescribed by an Ayurveda Doctor) were sheduled the best way, so that we had time either to go for a walk or just to meditate before the evening yoga class. We started the day with a glass of delicious tea, followed by chanting and breathing exercises or purification. The yoga classes were really good.We had two different yoga teacher (one for the morning and the second for the evening class). Both are very patient, helping and advising each student the best way. We enjoyed the meditation sessions at the afternoon, followed by great inspirational talks with Yogiji, full of wisdom and love. The meals were always fresh made and very nourishing and delicious! Our favorite time was after the dinner, sitting around the fireplace, chatting or just enjoying the great energy. On Saturdays we had a "special event" - we visited the Beatles Ashram, meditated in a cave, enjoyed the Aarti, seen the surrounding area of Rishikesh. We had a great time, surrounded by great people and the best scenery we could dream of! Thanks to all of you and special to Jogiji for the unforgettable experience! Namaste Rado & Eli

I stayed the ashram for over 2 weeks and had an amazing experience. The location is out of this world, right next to mother ganga yet still close to all rishikesh has to offer. Food was delicious, every meal was fantastic. Yoga was tough but so satisfying, Harsh and Vicky really helped strengthen my practice. Loved chanting first thing in the morning. By the end of my stay I felt part of the family. Thank you to Yogi Ji, Annika for your hospitality and Kailash for being so damn cute. Loved the doggies Peace and Shanti. Was colder than I expected, howling wind down the valley but when the sun peeps over the hills the days are beautiful. Rooms are basic but comfortable, only issue was lack of hot water especially when it is winter. Definitely a place I would love to go back to.

I stayed 2 weeks and loved it: first just yoga and the second yoga and Ayurveda treatments. Perfectly located on the Ganga, 5’ foot from the city but really quiet. A nice and cozy spot. A really nice staff, always there to help and make yourself comfortable. You even have your tea brought to your room on the morning. They are able to change the planning or offer activities depending on what you want. The cook is simple and delicious, always diverse and tasty. Yoga classes are a bit difficult for beginners but as they say “try your best, don’t force with your body” :). You do lots of stuff but have also time to be with yourself and relax. On the weekend, the staff propose an outside activity to see a bit more of the local area (for me it was cascade, sunset from the mountain and Ganga Aarti in Rishikesh old town: loved it! And next weekend : méditation in a cave, Beatles ashram and Ganga Aarti on the bridge). I definitely recommend this Ashram. Thanks again!

This was my second visit to Mahatma Yoga, I first attended a yoga week in 2015. This time I went for the two weeks spiritual retreat in September 2019. It was an incredible experience for many reasons. The ashram is in a beautiful setting and the yoga programme is well thought out to prepare you for the trekking week. I particularly loved doing gi gong on the local beach and a trip one morning to a beautiful beach on the Ganges where we did some yoga, had a swim (dip!) in the Ganges and had breakfast in this stunning spot. The yoga at the ashram was quite tough and I think it would help if you have done some yoga before. The accommodation at the ashram is functional, you do get your own room and bathroom but it's basic, and we experienced water shortages and electricity/wifi problems during the week. If that's going to bother you then perhaps you might be better looking elsewhere. However, the food was good, the teaching was great and the ashram provides a safe, calm haven away from the busy streets of Rishikesh. The second week - the trekking week was a real adventure, off the beaten track as far as most western tourists are concerned and this made it very special. Again the accommodation is basic, you will be sharing with others (when we got to base camp we had 8 in a room - this didn't bother me I was just glad to have a bed and not be camping!) the food was good though and we had some great meals in some of the basic places we stayed. Yoga in the orchard, the seven lakes walk and getting to the source (or nearly) were all highlights as was the night in the village - a very special experience. The trekking is fairly tough (partly because it's at altitude) and it would help if you have had some trekking experience before or a good level of fitness. There are some long travel days and the roads were interesting at times but overall although we left behind our creature comforts (showers, wifi and phone signal) we gained so much more. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who loves yoga and the mountains and has a sense of adventure (and a sense of humour for when the power or water goes off!)

I visited ashram on the Spring reatreat programm Yoga begginer + Trekking in Himalayas. And so pleased with my decision for 100%! Firstly, I was afraid will I endure the yoga classes but somehow all lessons were on very good balance. After week I saw already more flexibility in my body. Also all the rest daily routines very on good balance with plenty time for your own activities. Trekking week was the programm peak! Feelings and expierence were incredible, I am still smiling :) There are possibility to see so many parts of India - nature, people, culture, food, villages etc. A big thank you for Yogi Ji! He took care of all and we could feel very safe all the time. Yogi Ji allowed to take and live the best moments from local village people lifestyle. Higly recommeneded Mahatma yoga ashram and hope to visit ashram in next years!
