RUCHI TIWARI from Rishikesh Yogpeeth is highly unprofessional and rude. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. I was extremely disappointed with her unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. She clearly lacks the necessary skills and qualities to lead this establishment. I strongly advise potential guests to think twice before booking a stay, as it is evident that the management here is lacking in professionalism and the ability to provide a pleasant guest experience.

Wouldn’t go there again, but the view is amazing! Positive: -the view -the rooms -the teachers -the staff Negative: The manager is barely reachable and lying a lot about what ever you ask him. He wanted to have more money for the massage than on the website mentioned and depending on the country you are from he would ask for a different amount. Not thinking that people talk with each other 😅 The yoga mats are super super dirty and there is nothing to clean them with, even if you ask 3 times as I did, no one will give you anything even to clean it by yourself. The food is not satvik and it’s everyday the same! If you stay for 3 days for a beginner course, it’s fine, but imagine for 1 week! Basically no nutritions, mainly rice and bread. I was really lacking vitamins and felt it with my low energy level. There are no talks/philosophy exchanges, no Kirtans, no bonfires, no other activities than one session (super light) yoga with meditation (without any explanation to it) in the morning and evening. I have been to many ashrams and retreats and there was yoga presented as a whole concept/philosophy/way of living and not mainly an exercise. As a beginner you don’t even get a routine that you could take with you home. I was very disappointed and happy that I wasn’t a beginner, as it would definitely not have been inspiring to start. And especially if you already practice yoga, it’s not the right place either as it’s super easy and chilled classes. And there was as well a whole school class for 24h there, which is cool for the kids, but very loud if you want to meditate or read a book or just be in silence as it’s suppose to be an ashram, a peaceful place, where you wake up at 5:30am. To make it short, if you want a little simple hide away with a nice view and some yoga, it’s a good place to stay, otherwise don’t.

Nice scenery, well managed location. Rooms are comfortable, however during night it becomes quite cold. Good homely food. Staff is humble and friendly. Good for basic yoga practices. Pros: 1) Good silent place for Yoga Practice. 2) Beautiful scenery and full of nature 3) Good and supportive teachers Cons: 1) No dress code for teaches and students 2) A little unmanaged, like if a new person arrives, he/she has been directly put in the yoga practice, without any prior consultation about any existing health issues. The teachers doesnot have any kind of prior reports available of any new student. 3) If you are joining the retreat program for 3 days, probably you will be busy, but if you have taken it for more than 3 days, then there is nothing scheduled during the day time. Only the morning and evening yoga practice. 4) The therapy/massage room is quite unhygienic. It smells of oil and looks shady. They use the same towel for cover and wiping :( . It doesnot feel nice to be there. No plug for the heater and the open electrical wires were directly put into electrical socket. 5) From financial point of view, they are very un-professional. I earlier joined for 21 days, and as soon as i reached there after the 1.5 km of treak, badly sweating and short of breath, I have been asked to pay the balance amount first, before allocating me any room. They did not show a little courtesy to allocate me a room first and get freshen up, before doing the formalities, even though I already paid 20% advanced. Moreover due to some unfortunate situation, I have to leave a week earlier and I have been promised that they will refund me the payment after deducting some amount, and the amount will be refunded within 1 week after I checkout. But unfortunately, its been 12 days now and I am still waiting for the refund. Not sure why it is taking so much of time to pay it via UPI.

Words can’t actually describe the experience I had at abhyaranya. Beautiful place with teachers teaching amazing hath yoga that’ll surely open up your inner and outer self & to top it up wonderful people and staff. Special mention to the manager of the place Mr. Debashish who always went out of his way in terms of helping pro and solving any small grievances. I am definitely going to Rishikesh next time just to stay here but for a longer duration.

After some pretty disappointing yoga in South India I was delighted to spend time at this haven where there was genuine, authentic yoga and the teachers were highly qualified. This is a beautiful place to practise and it really enriched my life. Thank you to all of the teachers here.

I m from Pune and was thinking for learning some yoga n relax time as well. I visited Yogpeeth for 7 days yoga retreat for relaxing and learning some basics of Yoga n Ayurveda. Really enjoyed a lot and learnt basics of yoga. When i saw the location online i really liked it and booked it. When i reached at the location half an hour teek n saw the actual view, i was really amazed as the location is truly divine n superb. Yoga teachers Sachinji n Amanji are really good, they have ample experience. Thank you for all ur support. Specially speaking for Sachinji, he is very good in explaining and one of the best communication skills, which is really important for teaching yoga. Food is really awesome.. simple and tasty.. Support staff is really nice and very supportive. Thank you.. I will definitely suggest for this training / retreat program if anyone is looking for Yoga in Rishikesh. Patna waterfall is just below the Yogpeeth and is also nice and do visit it. Some villages above the Yogpeeth are small n beautiful.

I spent 2 weeks in Feb 2021 at Rishikesh Yogpeeth and I loved every moment of it. Rishikesh Yogpeeth sits on a mountain top beyond all noise & chaos of the Rishikesh town. The only way to access the Yogpeeth is by tracking 25 minutes up a trail from the Neelkanth Road which make the experience even more wonderful. After you reach there, you will hear koyal singing it’s amazing songs, peacocks adding their music in the background, and many other birds that I can hardly name singing their songs as well. You will also see langoors (black faced monkeys) fighting away in a distance. There is an abundance of birds and plants in this place which you would hardly see in a city. You will find marigold, roses, Gerberas, lilies, and many other flowers in Yogpeeth. There are all sort of vines that are growing on the walls or hanging from the balconies in Yogpeeth. The teachers, chef, caretakers and everyone working at Yogpeeth are very humble, polite, warm, knowledgeable, helpful and took care of me like a family. I got the chance to meet the proprietor of Yogpeeth and he is a very down to earth man and his main goal with Yogpeeth is to educate everyone about Yoga. The food at Yogpeeth is made fresh 3 times a day from scratch, it is simple vegetarian food but very tasty. Everyone get the same food at the same time so you get to see everyone at Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. There is also a cafe on premise where you can get coffee/tea and some snacks. The rooms are really nice as well with attached bathroom with western toilet. During my visit, I met Doctors, a Portfolio Manager, Head of Communication for a big Asset Manager, Marketing Professional, Entrepreneur, Students and Yoga Teachers. All of us seem to have a common thread, it is either health, yoga/Ayurveda, happiness, seeking high energy or just plainly getting away from all of it.

My friend and I spent a week in Abharanya in February 21,one of the most enriching experience of my life. The facilities are better than any yoga ashram I have stayed in. Food is delicious. The place is a small piece of heaven on earth. Even more than the place, the people have left a mark on me. The owner Mr Nautiyal leads by example, Prahlad Sir ( his knowledge of yoga is an inspiration), Pranita, CJ, the rest of the staff were all always there to make our time at Abharanya comfortable. I have found a home away from home. Thank you. Aditi Bagchi

If I had to choose a Yoga school in India to go to again, I would choose only one and it would be this one hands down! The staff and yoga teachers are top notch and cater to your every need! They truly love their culture which gives your journey so much more depth. Dilip, Deepti, Nikhil and Shashank truly Know how to teach yoga and philosophy, along with care for your wellbeing while you’re there. I look forward to the day that I can return to this place of beauty and learn more yoga from the best! Much gratitude to you all for making my journey so special! Namaste 🙏🏻

Having such a variety of yoga schools, it's a hard decision to make when you really want to learn yoga. So first, you're looking for the country - India for me was the best item for spirituality. Once you know which country, you go pick the city - Rishikesh is the birthplace of yoga. Now, it depends of what you are searching for. I was looking for a quiet place close to nature, far from noisy cities. So, when I first saw the location, Abhayaranya campus situated on the foothills of Himalaya surrounded by the forest, Patna waterfall and Ganga river... I knew this is it. Reality is actually more than you are expecting. It's breathtaking ! You will feel it once you step your feet there. Another important aspect is to see who will guide you there as teachers. You will meet there teachers that could change your perspective and teach you what yoga is actually about : Deepti - a yoga teacher with so much knowledge and experience in yoga anatomy, methodology and so many creative classes. She is a real yogi, as she is so kind to everyone and wiling to teach you everything she knows. She helped me a lot in my yoga postures I was struggling. She teaches you to adjust your body accordingly to its needs and pain. So if you're struggling with a posture (Shavasana included) she has the solution. Shashank - he is a young yoga teacher, yet so dedicated to yoga and interested in the growth of his students. He has so many things to teach you, one is discipline of yoga and another is strenght. He is also kind and willing to teach you even outside the yoga classes. His classes are amazing and his knowledge about adjustements and alignment are great. Nikhil - is your philosophy yoga teacher. He will help you to get to know what is behind the sience of yoga - yamas and niyamas and how yoga can change your monkey mind. So you may find your answers to your questions there. Last but not least, let's talk about food and accomodation - wich I can tell you is the best vegetarian meal you may eat. It's fresh, tasty and cooked in their kitchen. Accomodation is also very nice and clean. Staff is always there to help you in case you need something.
