A homely guest house on the bank of Ganga, near Rishikesh, surrounded by mountains, Rainforest house is a space where people can come to relax, rejuvenate, meditate, paint, read, write, trek around or simply to practice the art of doing nothing......A lovely place to spend time sitting next to Ganga, have a swim or for the more adventurous ones, jump from our famous jumping rock! It's a great place for yoga and spiritual retreats to be held.we are a 100 meter trek down a forest path from the road.to ensure a peaceful stay rainforest house is an alcohol free zone.

This is a wonderful, private boutique-sized hotel right on the banks of the Ganges in a quiet forest area outside Rishikesh - perfect for the yoga and meditation retreats and trainings we host in India each year (kookaburraretreats) as it provides a tranquil, secluded centre and easy access to the ashrams and attractions of Rishikesh. Rainforest House is comprised of 9 rooms with ensuite bathrooms and can comfortably accommodate 18 people sharing rooms. Most rooms have views or glimpses to the river. There is a rooftop suitable for early morning yoga and a dedicated, fully equipped open-air yoga room looking out over the river. The undercover dining area and terrace is comfortable and provides a central, casual meeting place. The food is outstanding. It is pure, fresh and

This review should have been up sometime back. We drove down from Delhi basically to run away from the regular grind. Wife and the two kids. The place is not that difficult to find if you are following the navigation which we did. The walk down to the hotel from the highway is not for those with dodgy knees, my mother would have refused had she come along. The rooms are simple, minimalistic, elegant like the rest of the house. the absolute kicker is the river barely 50m down, forever gushing and the stream next to our room added to the whooshing sound. The staff led by Manish are polite, smiling and helpful. The food is absolutely the best vegetarian fresh fare we have ever had. It itself would clean the soul. We loved it and the walk to the river, sitting by the stream or in

Whilst difficult to find because it is tucked away down an unmade track (so avoid arriving for the first time in the dark as we did), it is precisely because it is tucked away that makes it such a retreat. Overlooking the Ganges, the terraces offer a tranquil setting for quiet reading and meditation, close to nature and away from the hustle and bustle of the local town. Room was very comfortable with balcony and views out to the Ganges, with hot shower and air conditioning - perfect. Service was impeccable and food was the best we had throughout our whole trip in India. Only a very short taxi ride into town. We absolutely loved Rishikesh and this area and wouldn't definitely stay at the Rainforest House again when we return one day.

We would rate it as the best place in Rishikesh to unwind / relax, spend quality time with closed ones (family or friends) amidst nature. You have to experience to believe this & it's worth taking an extra effort of walking 500-700 mtrs to reach this exclusive house / property. We had a great time with the host (loving family) & all the staff members are also very supportive, friendly. The food is awesome & local transport, rafting etc... will be swiftly arranged on request. It's not a 'commercial' / Hotel' kinda property as the objective is to provide relaxing, homely experience to the guests amidst nature. The interior / decor is well-thought out in the cafeteria including rooms but a bit raw which adds to the beauty of the place. A 'must' experience for wanderers / travel

My wife and I chose Rainforest House as we wanted a place a little away from town and were drawn to the fact that it overlooked the Ganga. The booking process was smooth and we were given the number of Manish, the manager, who we corresponded with prior to getting there. We stayed in one of the upper level rooms and they give you a great view of the blue waters of Ganga through the trees. The sound of the river flowing through the day (and especially at night)is very therapeutic! The rooms have minimal decor but are clean and have a heater for the winter months. There is also a good vegetarian cafe which I recommend you try at least once during your stay there. The food is very lightly spiced but extremely tasty. They serve delicious pizzas too! The food is priced a little on
