A homely guest house on the bank of Ganga, near Rishikesh, surrounded by mountains, Rainforest house is a space where people can come to relax, rejuvenate, meditate, paint, read, write, trek around or simply to practice the art of doing nothing......A lovely place to spend time sitting next to Ganga, have a swim or for the more adventurous ones, jump from our famous jumping rock! It's a great place for yoga and spiritual retreats to be held.we are a 100 meter trek down a forest path from the road.to ensure a peaceful stay rainforest house is an alcohol free zone.

Yes, how do you say goodbye to your soulmate for over 13 years and not feel sad. I found it was easier to let go, in the Himalayan foothills, in the presence of the mighty Ganga. In the backdrop was the Rainforest House with its closeness to nature and attention to detail. Down comforters, plush towels and pillows, Himalayan bottled water, wholesome food, attentive staff and a wind chime that never tired of playing music. From the vignettes all over the place and room, one could makeout that this was a house proud owner who had graciously opened his heart and hearth. Yes, so goodbye Begum, my dog and partner of so many years.

I have stayed at Rainforest House three times and each time am reminded of the sense of calm I feel here. It is immaculately clean, the vegetarian food is great and the staff quietly and fabulously attentive. The rooms are simple, comfortable and spacious, the bathrooms amazing and the view is unforgettable. Unfortunately breakfast is not included in the room rental cost. The guesthouse is rural, about 3 kms by road from Laxman Jula and a 5 minute walk down a dirt path through the forest towards the river. Make sure you have a torch with you if you plan to be out after dark as this path is unlit. Taxis to and from Tapovan are a fixed price at 300 rupees each way however it is easy to flag down a bus and the same journey costs 10 rupees. Thank you to all of you for

Wow! This place was all it is advertised to be and more. We actually booked our room on Airbnb and stayed for a week. The nicest thing that may not be clear to a traveler unfamiliar with the Rishikesh area is that most of the rooms are in Lakshman Jhula. This area is quite busy. If you want a quiet, somewhat removed place to truly enjoy Rishikesh for its beauty, Rainforest House is the place to do it. It is about 2 km north of Lakshman jhula. We found it so much fun to walk along the Ganga to Lakshman jhula. Takes about 45 minutes for a quick hike and a little over an hour if you want to stop and enjoy all the beautiful scenry along the way. The staff here and the manager Manish are so nice, courteous, and professional. They can prepare all your meals here, if you like.

Rainforest, is the perfect place to head out to if you want to get away from the city and maddening crowds. It is a jewel that is tucked away from the mad rush of rishikesh. Wonderful hosts and an excellent staff made our stay truly memorable. The food is simply delicious (vegetarian). The location, now this is the most important, a stream flows next to the guest house and falls in to the Ganga. The river is a very short walk from the guest house and I loved sitting on the huge boulders watching it. The Rainforest staff take the effort to keep a long stretch of the river close to guest house clean, this made our experience really worth repeating.

This is an amazingly nice and clean place. The rooms are extremely clean and well maintained. The bathroom is top class. While the rooms are basic, there is no compromise on the basics - the mattress is excellent, the beds are proper, the extra bed is also proper, the blinds are great and the table and chairs are proper and of good quality. The place is 3 kms from laxman jhulla where all the action is. A taxi to laxman jhulla will cost you 300 bucks and another 300 bucks to come back. Taxis are always available from the laxman jhulla taxi stand at fixed prices. While you can walk the 3 kms to jhulla, i wouldn't recommend it. On the main road we got along just fine by standing there and hitch hiking to jhulla. Local buses or taxis are more than happy to stop for a small tip, as
