My husband and I stayed here twice.Granted it was over 10 years ago but we loved it. We stayed in one of the cabins. The owners were lovely. Great breakfast and we had no trouble sleeping. They don't enter your room while you are a guest and tell you that up front. If you need anything they supply it gladly. I have though of this place often over the years. It was clean and comfrontable. At the time we stayed there the owners had a cute cat named Callie. Very friendly. I woul definitely stay there again.
The Widow Kip's offers the best of the B&B experience. Bob is a warm and welcoming host, and he serves a delicious breakfast. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully appointed. The setting is lovely. And they take pets!
Thanks for canceling our reservation due to you "faulty" reservation system. We decided to take our business elsewhere. You cannot send an email with a "we are unable to accommodate your request" and no explaination. I am pretty sure you wouldn't have responded if I hadn't reached out to you for an explaination. And no, I didnot want "other" options that you so generously wanted to provide. Hope my review has the desired impact on others looking to book with you!
If you are looking for a beautiful setting in a quiet area Widow Kip’s is the place to be. When the river is running high rhe sound of the rapids drives away any other sounds. Breakfasts are awesome. Marmalade and cream cheese stuffed french toast is a treat. We spent 2 nights here with our grand daughters and we all had a blast. Our host was very interesting and helpful concerning local eateries and attractions.
This is an old-time place that's lovingly kept but too kitschy by half. The decorative items (samplers, quilts, crocheted TP covers, wash stands, framed photos, etc. etc.) are carefully arranged and evocative of earlier eras, but there are far too many of them. It's hard not to bump into things, and there are few surfaces where you can place your own belongings. Most B&Bs seem to follow this cloying pattern, so that alone would not merit too much of a downgrade. The owner was pleasant and the breakfast was attractive. However, the 3-star rating given here is generous considering the Widow Kip's unfortunate setting. It's just off I-81, a tremendously noisy interstate highway (think tractor trailers 24/7). If the window AC is running and your room is on the side facing away from the highway, the traffic noise may be somewhat muffled; unfortunately, the room AC cycles on and off, so in the middle of the night you can be awakened by very un-bucolic noises even on the inn's "better side." On the plus side, we learned that folks with pets are welcome, and the pets can be walked in the field bordering the highway.…
